    My Trip Report

Well the time is finally here, flying out tomorrow AM! As with past trips, my plan is to try to post pictures and multiple updates each day, with a summary when we get back home.

We've been to Vegas 20-25 times before, in the past 5 years or so we've gone 2-3 times per year. Normally we do 3 nights, 4 max, staying on the Strip. This trip is going to be a little different. We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary on Wed and my husband's birthday on Friday. Some "different than normal" things on this trip:

We have never stayed more than 4 nights, this trip is 5.
We have never stayed downtown, we are staying our first night at the D.
We never usually rent a car, we will have one the first two days this time.
We've never gone out to explore the area, we will be doing that on Tuesday.
We've never done pool time but are planning a little this trip, mainly to keep us from drinking and gambling all day for 5 days.

Flying SWA out of Austin tomorrow AM, arrive in Vegas around 9AM. Car rented thru National, one night booked at The D, and 4 nights booked comp at Bally's, our most frequent place to stay.

No shows booked but we are thinking about trying Tix for Tonight on Thursday. Tuesday, we are going to drive out to the Valley of Fire and then down to Hoover Dam for some sightseeing.

My updates and pics tend to be VP, food and drink heavy. Our gambling runs about 50% VP, (mostly bar tops), 30% slots and 20% tables.

VERY ready and excited to get back to our favorite place!!

Bankroll withdrawn and envelopes done. This system of a daily gambling budget works well for us.

Good luck! And 8/5 Bonus at the D's Vue Bar! That may actually be the best game left in the whole casino! But don't play DDB there...that's also 8/5, which means it sucks...lol

Regular security lines were long, and TSA precheck is looking like the best $85 (each) we've ever spent. Got through in about 5 mins.

Sounds like an adventurous trip! It's good to push the envelope sometimes. I bet it will be one of your most memorable ones.
Will be looking forward to your exploits!

I'm with you on the early flight seeming like a good idea. I always say I'm not going to do it again but getting there earlier is too big a temptation.

So do you put those in your carry-on and just ask for mix and discretely poor those on the plane

We had drink coupons for the flight, but we did buy an OJ in the Austin airport and dump a Titos in it.

Waiting for the shuttle to rental car center. The weather is absolutely perfect, almost cool with a light breeze.
