    Hi Gang!

Question for you Vegas Veterans who has been in Vegas for the Fourth of July Weekend:

This year the Holiday falls on Monday.

Is it noticeably more crowded than "usual"? If any of you can give insight to Downtown in particular it would be appreciated.

How are the table minimums? Do casinos raise the minimums during that period? (Again, insight particular to Downtown)

I booked a solo trip arriving Friday night and leaving Tuesday at 7pm. Didn't really care to go during this period but because of the holiday weekend it makes it more easier for me to do one because of my work commitments. Would be nice to have an idea of what to expect as far as crowds and raised table minimums, if any.

    Thanks in advance!

It depends what day of the week the Fourth of July is on. This year its a Monday so I would expect very little to be going on at all - its not a big party holiday in the first place and Las Vegas, as far as The Strip and Downtown, are concerned will mostly celebrate 4th of July when it falls on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

There will be stuff going on for locals, like down by the lake or at local parks, but most likely (not impossible, but most likely) there won't be any fireworks shows in the tourist areas and no extra decorations or anything.

Good to know. So I guess even though the Holiday falls on a Monday it's not as big a deal since next day is a work day.

I'm one of those who doesn't mind crowds, just don't want to be IN one, lol! Also still deciding if I'm going to rent a car for that weekend, traffic will always be there but really don't want to deal with extra traffic if that's ever possible.:rolleyes2:

I have been there the past two Fourths (on the Strip) and it was a little busier than usual, but nothing crazy. I don't remember it having any impact on the table minimums

Awesome! Thanks. That's another thing. I try (or at least I think I try, lol!) to manage my BR and like to bring enough but not more than I have to so I don't go on tilt.:faint: But if the minimums are higher because of the holiday I'll adjust for that.

When the 4th falls on a Fri - Sat - Sun or Mon, it's a 3 day weekend, so you get more people making the trip from the surrounding areas like California and Arizona, like any other 3 day weekend. But that's offset by the fact that dead summer is a little slower otherwise.

I'm usually there on the 4th regardless of what day of the week it is and I don't remember being bummed by higher than usual mins. But I stay on the strip, so for craps, for instance, the lowest min on Sat night might be $15 instead of $10 for a while, but you'd never see the lowest min jump to $25, which can happen Super Bowl weekend.

With the holiday being on a Monday the weekend will be busier than normal. That's always the case with a 3 day weekend. The fourth itself won't be that busy as thousands will be heading out.

I went ONCE for 4th of july, in 1998...NEVER again did I go.
It was just a mad dash between casinos for the AC...

I was there last year for the 4th...as said above, it seemed a little busier than normal, but nothing crazy like i imagine a fight weekend or something would be. My dad and i caught a minor league baseball game at cashman field and they had a fireworks show. Home team lost, but nothing like a night game in the summer.

The weekenders will be gone. The whole rest of that week will be relatively slow.

This is my understanding when the 4th is on a Monday. Everyone clears out on Monday which is good for us because we will be rolling into town that day.
