I will be in Vegas in early June, and was wondering which Sportbooks are best for low rollers. Some nights I may be just looking to chill, bet on some games, watch them at the sportsbook, and drink some beers. Any suggestions? I will be staying at the LINQ by the way, so something close to there would be nice.

I think any sports book nearby will work just fine. The CET books tend to suck compared to the far larger and more plush MGM brethren on the west side, but there's really no "low roller" sportsbooks. The books are the books.

I personally like the Venetian because of the TV set up slash can get "free drinks" from playing VP at the bar pretty easily. I didn't get to watch sports there, but Cosmo's new sports book looks pretty cool and also has a good amount of bartops. And Nick is right, it really doesn't matter much, every sports book has similar rules. But you do win an extra nickel with MLife on a $5 -110 wager though vs. CET...lol

Since you can just sit down and watch for free there really Isnt a "low roller" book. it is all about what kind of vibe you want. My favorite book is Cosmos brand new one.

I'm a big fan of watching games at the Mirage book. I'm a CET guy and usually stay anywhere from Harrah's down to PH and everything in between, and if I'm in that Harrah's/LINQ/Flamingo zone I'll usually make bets at my home book and then go hang at Mirage and watch games.

Last time I was at the Venetian, there was a sign saying you needed a $100 minimum bet to sit in their sportsbook. I sat there anyways and no one bothered but that's the only book I saw an excluding sign like that.

I looked into Bally's sportsbook and it seemed like a perfect fit. Has anyone been there? Bellagio also looked nice, but not sure my lowrolling self would fit in there lol.

At all the Caesars sports books i've been to (Caesar's Palace, Bally's), i was given free drink tickets for their respective sports book bar every time i placed a bet.

The Wynn has a really comfortable sports book with individual screens

I last sat there several years ago I thought it was pretty nice. I walked by recently (when there were no games going on) and it looked pretty much the same.

It's not football season so you probably won't have too much trouble finding seating, unless you are watching during the NBA finals. Then they will fill up.

Bally's sportsbook is definitely a casual atmosphere. It has plenty of stadium style seating with well lit surfaces to read or write on...with big screens and betting counter as the focal point of the seating arrangement...and has a bar towards the top with its own screens. There is also a food court (sbarro's, etc) within ten steps of the sports book.

Nobody there will know how much money you have or what kind of bets you are making. Come one, come all!

As others have stated a sports book is a sports book.

To me, low roller means it doesn't look comfortable or nice. The true, low roller sports books I would say are downtown. Where you have a writing desk like you did in elementary school.

Mirage, Caesars, Rio, Venetian, Wynn, and Bellagio fit the bill. Palms has a pretty nice bunch of TV screens but no one is ever there. Gold Coast and Orleans I bet at them but they are not like the upscale resort books. Is the Cosmo book still on the Second Floor? If so, I did not like that one.

Back in my younger days, my favorite was the Venetian with their long legged cocktail waitresses.

When I cashed a winning ticket at MGM, I did not like that book at all, even though I made a bet there. It used to be in its own private area and out of the way, but now there is a lot of wandering foot traffic going through it.

The cosmo book has moved to where the lucky cat is.. on the casino floor corner closest to Aria and the strip.. It is really nice now with pool tables, that pub style shuffle board game, giant tvs, lounge couches..

Only thing about the Cosmo is that it is ran by CG technologies, and they do not give away drink tickets for your wagers. If your planning on sipping on some beers it looks like they charge $8/beer. So while I agree that you can go anywhere and watch games, check out thevegasparlay.com for the best places to get drink tickets for your wagers and other info. This may what was meant by "low rollers."

The Linq sports book is generally pretty chill. I stay at the Linq often and will tend to watch games there. It's not the fanciest but it is far superior to Harrah's or Flamingo. Those 2 have the worst sportsbooks i've ever seen.

I will vote Mirage, however on our last trip I found myself really enjoying myself at the Planet Hollywood book. Not horribly big and the seats were looking pretty worn, however I really enjoyed the sportsbook bar. Bartenders were extremely personable and a couple even remembered me and began to set up my drinks of choice as I approached without asking.
