This was posted on eater. Apparently some kind of contract between McDonald's and MGM/Mlife hotels ended a day ago. The article has pictures of Johnny Rockets coming soon signs where the MGM location was.

No more McDonald's in MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, Excalibur, and Luxor. The McDonald's at Circus Circus still remains.

I searched for McDonald's and Mcdonalds (without the apostrophe, just to make sure) and there weren't any posts covering it.

McDonald's was one of the few places that served Coca-Cola products inside an MGM resort at a fair price, slightly higher than non-Las Vegas-area restaurants.

Yeah, I saw it on Trip Advisor. I didn't see an official story and apparently the initial post was shut down. Theory was they want outlets committed to Pepsi but who knows. It's illuminating to read some of those posts to see how many people eat McDs regularly on vacation, primarily for the cheap seats but also out of familiarity.

That's too bad. When we used to stay at the Luxor/Excalibur, we always had at least one or two meals there. I LOVE fast food. I admit it. I try not to eat it too much at home, so when I travel - it's a treat for me.

I believe that the McDonald's at Detroit airport serves Pepsi products; couldn't get a Coke there. And all of the stores in the airport only stocked Pepsi. No Coke for you...

I'm at Luxor now. Kind of a bummer since I liked to grab a quick egg mcmuffin early in the morning and then have a nicer meal later on. All boarded up.

I saw it mentioned on tripadvisor too. It served as a reminder of how many absolute roasters use that forum!

We very rarely go to McDonald's in Vegas as there are loads of alternatives that don't involve standing in a queue for 15 minutes.

Side note... May have been posted elsewhere, but glad someone posted here.

Are you saying MGM is moving to Pepsi? I hope not.

Yes. I'm glad someone posted on here also. Not everyone cares to subscribe to facebook or other social media.

It's too bad McD's are being phased out of the MGM properties. There are times when a fast meal is welcomed when you just want to eat and get on with your Vegas vacation.

I agree. We often use the food courts for a small lunch when having a larger dinner or just to keep some costs down. Usually we either have a small breakfast (coffee+pastry) and have lunch or big breakfast and skip lunch but if we wanted a bite they were a good deal.

There are still Mcd's on the strip. One looks like it is located on the corner of lvb and harmon, near PH (I see it on google maps but not when doing a yahoo search). The other is farther down near harrahs.

yeah, I didn't mind the McD's at the Luxor or Excal, it was great when I was walking to grab a quick bite at a reasonable price.

Pepsi is generally what restaurants use to save money from what I've heard, so it wouldn't shock me with PGP going on. And some MGM properties are Pepsi already, Gold Strike in Tunica is.

Very disappointed to hear McD's is pulling out of these food courts. MC was quite the convenient location.

No, I have no clue. That was the gossip is. That being said, MGM properties haven't been exclusively been one or the other at last check.

This really sucks, it will just mean more walking, unless they open in some CET locations

There's so many equally as inexpensive and much better quality places on the strip. Not sure why you guys are up in arms over losing Ronald McDonald. Yea, I get that convenience and the idea of knowing what you're getting (it's why we all go to chain restaurants), but Vegas makes it so easy to find good food that I don't mind it so much. Plus, McDonald's doesn't really make for a Instagram worthy photo :p

It's a nice value option for coffee compared to Starbucks.

I don't remember eating at McDonald's while there, but I like the variety. Plus if I gamboooooool my last dollar Philip Seymour Hoffman in Owning Mahoney-style, McDonald's is a good backup plan.
