    My Trip Report

Vegas usually 4 times a year since I've been gainfully employed (2011-present).

Trip 2 of 2016. First was with cousin (his first time) in January. This was solo, mainly music based and a mid strip change of pace.. usually a south strip guy.

    Thursday 5/5
    - Worked first half of day, rushed to airport to beat rush hour to FLL. Super early vs my normal airport arrival 20 minutes before my flight boards.
    - JetBlue has so much more legroom+bigger seats vs other airlines I fly. Love them. Even though I forgot to upgrade to EvenMore whatever to board earlier, still had overhead space in one of the last boarding groups (never check bags for any trip!) Loud drinkers behind me interrupted my normal napping to pass the time but still not a bad 5-6 hour flight.
-in 9pm. Checkin quick at Quad kiosk (comped stay). Room was fine, AC wonderful (better than other CET properties that don't have wall mounts). 2nd stay here, love the location.
-Met an old fan of Umphreys McGee at TAG bar who has known the band since their early days. Was in town like myself to see them play 2 nights at the Bowl.

    Quad As holding 1.

    - Cromwell craps the rest of the night. Great crews and I got wasted with the time difference + drinking crown on the rocks most of the night. $10 table + 100x odds is OUTSTANDING. Between this and TAG being CET's best bartop VP, I love this area of the strip.

-Played a marathon session on 2 DC strategy winning nicely. Tried on one hot roller (knocked both my DCs down and hit multiple points) to switch to an Iron Cross kind of strategy (dealer asked if I was ok lol) and it was an immediate 7 out. No more right side ever for me.

-Still finished up $400 or so and was wasted. Good first night.

    Friday 5/6

    - Began a morning tradition of giving into to my dark side... breaking my VP rule of only single line. Had some bloody marys at TAG on 6/5 STP 3 line thinking hey, I'm earning more TCs! Was in for 400 without much happening but cut my losses to 275. Ugh.

-Wandered back to Cromwell since I had so much luck and fun there the night before. Sign outside the TAG entrance:

    Woohoo!

    - Dude put on a clinic hitting hard ways and parlaying them. A newbie playing was drunk super early and trying to learn how to bet the hi/lo... he learned snake eyes and boxcars so he kept throwing up a "$5 snake box". I commented that sounded like an STD. Good times.

    - Wandered down to Cosmo to check the new sportsbook. Jesus freaks with bullhorns were on both sides of the crosswalk between PHo and Cosmo... god they are annoying. Wanted to shout "WHAT DID PARENTS DO TO FUCK YOU UP THIS BAD?" but didn't feel like fighting.

    - Sportsbook is DOPE. 24/7 food from Henry. Big screens galore. Perfect square bar setup like Aria (fuck Aria and whitebeard). Novelty foosball type games. Decent paytables on VP (relatively, like vs CET). Brannon is a cool bartender, one of the few I never met at Cosmo.. said he'd been at the 2nd floor chandelier bar previously.

    - Tater tot nachos + VP + watching 2 MLB games I bet on = paradise?

    - Royal Flusher's strict rules of parlay (the 60/160 rule as I call it, can explain if needed), led to a winning VP session. Need to stick to single line.

    - Terrible craps session at Paris on the way back north. Another hit at TAG that dwindled to nothing eventually.

    - Umphrey's McGee time at the Brooklyn Bowl. Was a few drinks in on the day at this point... smuggled in a large flask of Crown and drank Banana Hammocks (a drink I invented.. tropical redbull + Crown) until the night became a mirage in my mind. 4 sets of UM, each with a different theme, their yearly huge show as a give back to the fans. 2 of the sets were voted on by ticket holders the weeks prior... 1 set was completely improv jamming.. and 1 set was a 'Choose your Destiny' where you texted in the song you wanted next out of 3 options and saw realtime updates on the screen behind them. Met a bunch of awesome people and danced my ass off. Awesome night.

Good stuff so far! But those quad pics are making me wish you were playing DDB, Super DDB, or Triple Boner Plus! I'm guessing you're editing the run of the mill quads out? ;)

Regular quads are removed.. yeah, I was trying to cut down the variance of my STP money flushes by sticking to BP. My one DDB session was a quick $100 gone with no quad.

    Nice bunch of quads !

We have done a dozen or so shows at BB......really like the place but it can get packed. Looks like you were down in it from the pics. Umphreys is a great band, we were down for the SCI run several weeks ago and wanted to come back for UM.

We still haven't had anything to eat at BB, did you eat there ? Heard the fried chicken is amazing.

    Saturday 5/7

    - Start the day dropping $300 at TAG 3 play STP.

    - Bunch of sports bets down.. couple 12-1 shots on the Derby to win.

    - Another long craps session at Cromwell.

Great crew. Max was an especially cool dealer. It downpoured heavily in the afternoon (rained a lot this trip). Had craps newbies on my side of the table all on the DC with me after watching me win and asking what I was doing.

    - Sports notes: crazy how good line makers are. Took over 185.5 in the Heat game, final score 186. The favorite won the Derby (Nyquist) which was boring.. watched it from the craps table at Cromwell. Lost a bunch of baseball bets and other bets.

    - Won $400 or so at dice. The cocktail service is the main downside of the Cromwell.. so slow and infrequent, sucks since everything else is so good there.

    - Played at TAG before the second night of Umphrey's McGee. Had a killer run on the strict rules of parlay, got up to the $2 level with lots of play there before cashing out at $120 having started at $20.

    - Hit the room for the flask then show time. Surrounded by guys in costumes (hot dog costumes, captain america). UM played a fun cover of Don't Stop til You Get Enough with the horn players guesting from the night before. Good show.

    - Called it an early night again after drinking all day and exhausted from the show. I'm apt to call it an early night on solo trips like this more often than not. Found the secret elevators finally!

    Wrapping things up...

    - Headed downtown Sunday via Uber. Originally planned to spend the night at the D but was enjoying my TAG/Cromwell craps combo enough to keep racking up TCs and also didn't feel like packing up to move then packing again to fly out.

    - Put all my sports bets down before heading downtown then went to the D. As usual, nice bartenders at the Long Bar, was able to sweat 3 of my baseball+basketball bets simultaneously. $40 freeplay and right near the end of it, boner deluxe!

Ended up losing it all back plus another $100 looking for another quad.

    - Craps for a while using my $30 matchplay. Winning session. 5x odds is nice but not as nice as 100x.

    - Popped into 4Q to check if I had freeplay, nada. Went to DTG because I was supposed to have freeplay but for the 2nd straight visit, I plugged in my PIN and none was available. I'm very confused. Grabbed some Pizza Rock before Ubering back to the strip.

    - Spent the rest of the night playing dice at Cromwell which was pretty uneventful. Flew out early Mon AM without any hitches except almost getting into a fight with a guy saving a whole row of seats in row 7 on Southwest. I made him give up the window and he was a real asshole about it. I don't get the entitlement of people who think their C group companions should get first 10 rows. If you're saving seats go to the back of the plane. I had for Early Bird for a reason.

    Summary

Thanks if anyone followed along this far! Boring TR but it was a relaxing solo trip for me. Overall numbers come to around $900 in comp value and a total loss on the trip of $400 (STP....).

Plan was to reduce my trips this year, next was going to be Halloween with my cousin who came in January with me.

INSTEAD, my buddy C (buckeyestud on this board) is back in the US in early June and convinced me to come for a Sun-Wed trip. He gets great comps at Cosmo.. I called and had a 2 night offer that was blacked out due to a jewlery convention so I hopped on the CET calendar and got 3 nights at PHo across the street.

I got a set like this and use the bigger one mostly. 12-16 oz maybe? Enough to save $100+ on drinks in venue.

No patdowns at all at the BB so I could just pocket it in. For shows with patdowns it fits down between your legs very comfortably :)

For example I'll be doing a run at the end of June where I'm flying into Minneapolis seeing Phish there at their tour opener, then driving to the Wisconsin Dells casino hopping to collect chips down to Chicago where I'll see Phish at Wrigley field. Those Phish shows are crucial flask situations. Get a water and a glass of ice before set 1. No leaving the crowd for pee breaks or refills when you have a Crown on the rocks in a full glass to sip on.

Good stuff hopefully it will be a winner next month!

I was in the Dells in April and stopped by the casino. Pretty nice place and not bad VP considering no nearby competition. 9/6 DDB for dollars at least. Had an ale asylum hopalicious there which was good.

Also bought psuedoSue in a liquor store in the Dells. One of the best beers I've ever had. Wish I bought more because it's only available in IA and WI. What a West Coast IPA should try to be!
