    Of course, it can't !
    *
    But............It would be fun !
    *
    Here's a good reason why ----
The other evening,I was mowing my lawn.
I use a motorless ( old school ) push / spin blade mower.
I didn't like storing gas + I hate disturbing the peace.
My lawn is not that large - takes me 30 mins.
    *
I have found my quiet weekend afternoons disturbed by LOUD, gas mowers.
Especially, while my young son is napping or I'm enjoying a peaceful sunny spring day on my deck.
I live in a complex - alot of lawns close by.
I can mow my lawn day or night without disturbing anyone.
    *
    Anyway ---
I hear a swarm of LOUD bees overhead.
I knew in an instant what it really was !
It's actually, the first drone I've seen up close.
    ...........and I didn't like it !.....immediately !
    Sorry, drone owners.
    *
#1.........The "snooping" factor ( cameras are attached )......
This thing was buzzing over me --
I was looking across a schoolyard - if i could see an operator ?....nope.
I thought - "If you want to 'snoop' on me ?.......then, I ought to be allowed to disable
that thing so you can't 'snoop' = FAIR IS FAIR ?............use a rock or pellet, bullet ? = anything !
    .
    #2........The noise ?
    It was annoying.
All I kept thinking was..........."this is just ONE drone ?.....if everyone had one = friggin' neighborhood
would sound like an airport ! Can you imagine the future ?"
    *
That's my beef........and this is my suggestion ---
I should get my own drone that shoots down other drones !
I would LOVE to see the look on the "Snooper"/owner's face when his
love toy gets blown out of the sky !
    *
Oh please.......I know the legal ramifications.
But have you had an experience ?

My husband has one and I hate it. It's so loud. It also makes my dog bark like a maniac. More noise. ;)

I haven't had any problems with strangers with drones, but I did read a post on our local facebook group about some ladies who were on the beach with some wine and a drone came over the dunes to spy on them. Super creepy. I'm pretty sure I would have grabbed some driftwood or a rock and tried to knock it out of the sky.

I saw a video a week or so ago where somebody had trained a hawk, or falcon, to snatch them out of the air. I like that idea.

I think that was an episode of Scorpion earlier this year ;-)

Pretty sure my husband has a drone or two. He has an entire fleet of various sized r/c planes (don't think he has any helicopters at the moment) and gliders and he flies every weekend with a group at an airfield nearby. He's actually spending this week at an r/c fly-in.

That said - we live in the country and he doesn't fly over people. Not intentionally at least. Most communities have noise regulations/violations. If the drone is too loud, report it! (your community might also have other regulations about drones - check!)

You need some sort of emp weapon. No damage to the drone except it disables it's electronics systems :)

Drones are becoming a real problem in a number of public safety situations.

Like most of these kinds of situations, nothing is going to be done about the dangers of drones until one of them causes a disaster with a lot of deaths. Recently, a British jet struck one but luckily nobody was hurt.

Drones are already a problem. During the large fire near Nv-Ca line last year they had to shut down air ops because of drones endangering their aircraft

For those "good" drone pilots out there, let's make a distinction between using a drone in a safe & legal fashion and using it dangerously and/or illegally, ok? Flying too high, interfering with aircraft, flying in no-fly zones - these things are unsafe AND not allowed. Flying in your own neighborhood at a low altitude might be loud (which might be against local regulations) but is typically not unsafe or illegal. Check your local regs. IANAL.

I think local jurisdictions -- where they can, the industry is trying hard against local preemption -- are gonna hammer-slap users. Unsafe is a fluid concept and illegal is but three votes (typically) away.

Town I live in has already outlawded the use of drones. I dont know the exact reason but we are near Mc Guire AF Base and the huge transports and the Coast Guard choppers fly over.a lot.

They're illegal in NYC. I'm not going to lie, there are some cool areas along the coast line in CT / Long Island that I would love to explore but physically can't. A drone would be see it all.

Speaking of drones... Nice flight over Calabasas ca.. In Los Angeles county they have a rule no drone flying from sun up til sun down.. But everyone does anyway as that is a bit unrealistic. Not suppose to fly over populated streets and so on.
