    My Trip Report

Just got back from my solo 4-night stay at Circus-Circus. I had a manor motor lodge booked, but asked at check-in if they had any Tower rooms available. (I didn't offer the $20 at first). The girl at the desk gave me a skytower room it was a nice room, (Probably nicer than the motor lodge.)I gave her the $20 after she upgraded my room. The bed was slightly uncomfortable, but I managed. They had an in room safe, but there was a key in the pocket next to the safe, so I didn't feel comfortable using it. They had two free cups of coffee (Coffee maker) a day. I don't drink coffee so it didn't help me. The resort fee was a little over $98 which I did not use one thing it covered. I did receive a coupon book which I used a coupon for $15 of chips for $10 & stradegy cards for Roulette, Craps, & BlackJack. I did win $15 at the table. All the video poker machines had very poor pay tables on them so I did not play anything else @ Circus-Circus.
They rest of the trip was fairly good. I broke about even gaming wise.
I did not eat at any restraunts on the strip. I stuck mostly with the buffet at Gold Coast, Steak dinner at Ellis Island, & pizza from Metro Pizza at Ellis Island.
After 4 days/nights I was ready to come home. like another tab, Vegas just doesn't have it's luster for me as much anymore. But it is a reasonable priced getaway from work.

Nice you had an upgrade, too bad they didn't upgrade the bed.:snore:

I haven't been in CC for some time..........do they still do the circus act things ?

Even though I guess it's a "Strip" hotel I would have thought the pay tables would be a little better to get people to stay, or visit. I will never understand marketing strategies.

Did you drive that good lookin' truck up to Ellis Island ?

Unless they have changed, Circus Circus has Aces & Eights Bonus Poker at the 50 cent level and 8/5 Bonus Poker at the 25 cent level. I believe that both payout better than 99%.

Yeah, he must have looked in the wrong places. I definitely played 8/5 Aces and Eights in February (100.25%+prog.). 7/5 Aces and Eights (99.10%+prog.) is also available in the same banks at the quarter level. 8/5 Bonus still should be available on some other banks as well.

I hope the trip was okay for the most part. The Circus Circus brings back so many wonderful memories for me, as a youngster that is. Would you stay there again, on a future trip?

you don't see many Trip Reports from Circus Circus. Interesting. The place brings back memories with me when my parents would bring me along to Vegas. They always stayed at the Stardust and would always hang out at Circus Circus since it was next door. Very good memories. Never been back their since, I always stay on South Side of the strip now. Thanks for the report

They still do the circus acts and the Aces & Eights are still there. I have a soft spot for that place, would definitely rather play there than Casino Royale!

@ Camp Rusty....Yes They still do the circus acts, but I did not check it out. I do have a truck that year , but unfortunately mine is not in that condition. It is not in running or that nice........yet, but it will be someday.
@ everyone else. I only checked on JOB Video Poker. I could only find an 8-5 payout on them. I did not check every machine though. If the price was right I would stay again, but I would much rather stay up around Harrah's, IP (Linq), Flamingo area. It was quite a walk (1/2 hour each way) to that area.

Yeah, no 9/6 JoB (99.54%) there. I know there is 9/5 JoB (98.45%) for dollars at two of the bars at least, but it's the 6th highest returning game of 7 available. :( FYI, bonus is generally the better choice at most strip properties, and JoB strategy works fine for it.

Agree with you on the location. I would hate to stay there without a car, or at least a bus pass.

Thanks for the write up, I guess you had a car to make the trips to the Gold Coast and Ellis Island.

Yes, not many trip reports of CC. Agreed, not a great location, but about a 10 minute walk to the 108 bus stop in front of Westgate and about a 15 minute walk to Encore. The visitors bureau entrance to the LV Convention Center is about a 15 minute walk. The Stratosphere is almost a mile away, and the the area in between is a little sketchy, so I returned on the bus.

A little play will get some offers, I was comped on a Saturday and Sunday night in September, a busy time. The Steakhouse is still top notch and they had happy hour with half priced drinks at the bar. It's like a little bastion of class and refinement in a sea of tackiness, boardwalk games and ankle biters. Lots of them on weekends, not so much when school is in session.

Thanks for the report. I can't say much about Circus Circus, except that in 20 years coming to Vegas, I only stepped foot one time inside there. That was enough for me!!

The Steakhouse is fantastic. I don't have any other good memories of the place. It's kind of amazing that it still exists to be honest.

We stayed at Circus Circus for my very first trip to Vegas. We paid the AAA rack rate for a manor room. I am not sure we've been back there since that first stay in 1995.

Sounds like you would have more fun downtown. So many choices in a condensed area, better low roller gambling options, no resort fees at boyd and 4queens.
