Is the Golden Nugget the only downtown property that offers the STA on craps tables? Many more used to but have gotten away from that or the fire bet.

Any talk of this bet returning downtown? I miss it where it is no longer offered!

In the 30+ years of going to vegas I don't remember any downtown casinos having these bets so not sure if it will "return" downtown since IMHO it was never there. I do like to see it and when I go to Sam's town I will play it. Hopefully one day it will be included in the crap games downtown. I won't play at GN, too snobby for me so I hope other casinos will have the STA and fire bets.

BTW, while they don't really list it you can still make hop bets at many casinos, just ask them about it.

nope, I was there last month and didn't see it at the Fremont.

I've played it at Binion's in the last three years. They told me there that they got rid of it because it slowed the game down when it hit. I know that CAN be true of the fire bet, but most casinos which still have the fire bet have streamlined the process of paying out. I've been lucky enough to hit the six-number fire bet once and the ATS more times than I can recall, so maybe that's why I love them so much. More into the ATS lately, tho, since it hits so much more frequently (or so it seems.)

sorry, I hardly play at Binions so you could be correct with Binions having STA in the past. I've played at most of the other casinos (I checked out the DTG but didn't play the crap table there) and didn't see the STA in most of them before.

Slows down the game when it hit? Not any more than when a hardway hits. The dealers pay off the winners. Doesn't really slow the game down much. And the house edge is high. I don't see why a casino wouldn't offer it. Maybe there is a boxman union that is against since they are the one's who have to mark each number.

They may have got rid of it because they did not get enough action to justify the payment to the company that controls the rights to the game.
As far as slowing it down....No way.
You probably hit it more because mathematically it is more likely to hit a 2-6 and 8-12 than to make a pass on 6 separate points.

    Anywhere else in Vegas?

Anywhere else the fire bet and STA are offered in Vegas? I can't find a list anywhere dated more recently than 2013 or so. I'll travel for the ATS. I think it adds to the game--and I'm not a prop betting kind of guy. I can go forever without playing a hardway (unless it's for the crew as a toke, and then always player-controlled.) Just like the STA.

Yeah, maybe we need a sticky to let members know where they offer STA and fire bets. I know that Sam's town offers STA, don't remember if it had fire bets (I think it does but I can't confirm). Also remember that some places may offer one or the other but not both.

If someone checks, start up a new thread which lists all the places which offer STA and fire bets. Not sure when I will be back in vegas (maybe next year since I visited vegas twice already this year) but next time I'm in town I will make a note if I see STA and/or fire bets.

I'll do the same. I'll be there twice in the next three weeks, but I'm staying downtown both times. As of today, I believe the Golden Nugget is the only downtown casino to offer the STA. Don't believe anyone has the fire bet downtown--just got removed from the Grand recently. May have to make a special trip to the Strip to update that list but, last I heard, the Harrah's group of casinos had the fire bet and the Wynn group has the STA.

    Anyone care to confirm/refute?

I won't be there for another 2.5 weeks (doh!). As I was reading this I was sure hoping to get to the bottom to find that you were currently there.

When do you return Downtown so you can check it out and get eyes on the objective?

I sure hope the downtown casinos have this bet, or at least the firebet. ATS is best, but I'll take a firebet as 2nd choice

Where is the casino that carries both the firebet AND the ATS?

I'll be there twice over the next three weeks, so I'll hopefully have an update for everyone soon!

    (I think I have a problem...! But it's a fun one!)

So much for fun.... Had the absolute WORST gambling experience of my life downtown from 4/17 thru 4/21. Couldn't win anything anywhere downtown. Even playing one number at the craps table, no one could hit points or even roll three or four times without Big Red rearing its ugly head. My whole group not only got slaughtered, but we didn't see or hear any other groups winning, either. I'm sure someone had to, but the trip was depressing, and still no craps tables downtown with the Small/Tall/All bet anywhere but at the Golden Nugget.

Going back tomorrow to see if I can turn it around but, for the first time in my life, I'm less than enthused about a week in Vegas!

Too bad about your bad luck. You can always take the shuttle bus to Sams town, they have the small, tall, all bet.

    better luck tomorrow.

Damn it's rough to hear that; sucks you didn't have a better run of luck.

Do you ever bet the Dark Side? It's not as fun in a community sense but when the dice are cold it can be a decent way to bring in cash. Usually for me when I switch to the Don't the table gets hot again but I have been able to win some $ on some 4 and 10 lay bets.

I hope you turn it around next time!

Generally on strip ATS is at Mlife and Firebet is at CET properties. I did hear a rumour though suggesting CET may be in process of switching from Fire to ATS.

Saw no fire bets downtown, anywhere. And I did go to the Don't Pass, with odds, of course, and it was the same. The fours and tens would hit, and the sixes and eights wouldn't. Story of the trip. Hell, I even was one number away from the "All" at the Nugget once, and the only number that wouldn't come up? You guessed it--EIGHT! Another time, both sides needed one number for either the "Small" or the "Tall," and they were five and nine. Do you think either would hit, in about 15 rolls? Nope.

Leaving for Vegas again this afternoon. Hope that is all behind me!
