We were in Vegas April 15-19. Only because VMB has countdown timers did I mention to my wife that it is only 40 more days to our next trip. She laughed out loud and said did you forget you lost your ass last weekend? The excitement of a Vegas trip and I'll win it all back. :evillaugh

Except for some on-line NFL bets, Vegas is the only place I gamble, so even though I might sound like a totally degenerate gambler, I'm not. Local Indian casino 30 minutes away and I haven't been there in 10+ years.

Truth be told, I never go expecting to win, but when it happens, it's a wonderful feeling. Check that. I always go expecting to win, but then after day 1 and 2 of losing, I go wtf, I need a big win to break even. Sometimes it happens, most trips, not so much.

Yep, Joe, that about sums it up for me - hope springs eternal, and a bit of good luck never hurts...not packed yet but ready to give it another go!

Two weeks ago I came back from another true Vegas trip of a lifetime with my 83-year old mother (who had been ill), DBueler and two nieces (trip report coming as I prepare for the next one). (My 50th birthday celebration in Vegas almost two years ago with big brother Champster1, DBueler and best friends from college and law school and one friend's mom was spectacular AND was my most winning trip in the 25 years I have been going to Vegas.)

My mom knows I'll be back in August for my birthday trip and said she wants to join me and is excited about her summer social calendar. Given how my mom was feeling just 18 months ago, this makes my heart full. :) In contrast to the last trip, this one will be low key for more time for playing and just relaxing!

Haha, I hear ya! We were there April 9-15 and it was a very fun trip, but we got KILLED! Worst gambling trip ever for us, which was weird because I was up $1,000 on day 2. Oh well, you win some and lose some...

I can't wait to be back next week to win it all back. :evillaugh

We don't gamble locally either. Only tribal casinos around here too, no interest there.

Same here Joe..20+ years of living in FL and I've never been to the closer Seminole Immokolee casino or the Hard Rocks in Tampa and Hollywood.
Have been to the local Greyhound track a bunch though (Naples/Ft.Myers) Glad it is only live racing and simulcasting,I do not need Video Poker machines just 20 minutes from home or I'd be dangerous to myself I think. Save that for AC/LV and home is home with limited gambling.
Best wishes on the upcoming trip!
