What do you do with less than $1 cash out vouchers?

On my recent trip to Monte Carlo I was surprised by the amount of less than $1 vouchers just laying on top of machines. I would pick them up and run them through the redemption machine and pick up from .7 to .39 cents. I found at least 5 over 2 days and the friend I was with thought I was crazy by redeeming them saying it was a waste of time. One was in bad shape and took the time to take it to the cage. My thoughts are the Casino takes plenty of money and if I lose on a machine down to where I have less than a full spin left I cash out whatever the amount is and get it in coins. I cant imagine just leaving change out in the open so why leave a voucher just laying around. I asked some family about it last time I visited and they agreed with my friend, a waste of time. So am I the only person who redeems these vouchers for less than $1. If this is such a trend the Casino's should set up a donation box to some charity to drop them off in. At least this way someone other than the casino would benefit? Like that would ever happen!

I sometimes leave a few cents for the next Gambler to enjoy after I am pissed off by how badly I did, er, am done gambling for the time being. ;). You never know, those literal pennies could win someone a huge win.(I got $40 off of 1 nickel not too long ago, ;)

A couple of years ago when I was staying at the GN there was a $.01 voucher lying on the counter at one of the gift shops for about five days. When it was finally snatched up I asked the lady behind the counter why they left it out all those days and she told me it was a running joke between all the cashiers to see who would have the guts to snag it.

If im at my home hotel everytime i have less than the minimum bet in the machine i will print it out and on my last day i will put all my vouchers in and play them out

If im at another hotel i will leave anything under 0.25 in the machine for the next player

I've always thought a charity box would be a great idea but as there isn't one I cash out all my tiny tickets and together with all the other coins I've saved over two two weeks I go to Ellis Island on the last day. They have a coin changer which gives you 110% of what you have as free slot play, playable once only. Works for me and that money goes to my next trip. I play it just on VP and then leave.

I'll just hand mine to somebody sitting next to me and wish them good luck. Part of me really wishes them good luck, the other part hopes I had just handed them my bad luck and my fortunes will change. Is that bad?

I'll look for a penny machine where you can select lines starting from 1. So basically you can play 1 cent/spin, I'll bet as much as I can until I'm down to zero. I've once made a comeback from like 17 cents to $50.

    Depends.

IF I've cashed out (the SHR cash machines don't render coinage) I'll keep the folding green and just hand the cents-ticket to the Mrs. who will eventually make it to the cashier.
IF I'm playing and down to less than minimal play, I'll just leave that in the machine for the next player.

    Same here...
I find a penny machine and play it down to zero. I do not play other people's TITO's nor do I knowingly leave credits on a machine.
Technically any money found on a Casino Floor or left in a Machine is the property of the Casino so I've heard.

This is definitely true in some states (e.g. PA), but Nevada law is vague. When the Las Vegas Advisor asked the gaming commission, they said they would usually treat it as"finders keepers" if it was truly abandoned. Of course, if someone leaves a $500 in the machine for an hour or more unattended, are they really abandoning it? But for $1 or less you can take it with no problem obviously.

This is what I did my last full day in Vegas last time. Doh!

The casino is supposed to eventually collect the property and when the TITOs expire they are supposed to pay 75% of the value to the state and they can keep 25% of it. Also if somehow you do let a TITO expire, don't assume you're out of luck. They often can be cashed with a manager override.

I am superstitious about the little TITOs people leave behind. I don't touch them. Every now and again, someone will gift you with the loose change TITOs. I don't like taking them. I don't even like playing with my own. If I see them lying around, I leave them. But because the State of Nevada has decided to claim a part of them, I make sure I don't leave them around for the casino to collect, either.

I typically leave any TITO's I still have in the room with the cash tip for housekeeping. They can toss them or cash them. I can't bring myself to ever throw them away.

A while ago I found two expired tickets, both between $10 and $20. One was for the local Ameristar, the other for the local Horseshoe .

At Ameristar the lady at the cage took it to the supervisor and I could hear him say "yeah, pay it" or something like that.

At Horseshoe they pushed back. The front line clerk just said I was SOL. The cage manager had me sign a "dispute form", which said something like "player disputes ticket value of $0.00, requests payment of $13.79" and then they did pay it.

If it's not enough to play something interesting, I just put it in my bag. I'll keep it for my collection if I don't already have one from that casino.
