    Hi everyone, I require some assistance in relation to dinner locations on the south end of the strip. It will be for a large group of around 8 with the following criteria:

    - No preference for the food type;
    - Buffet and alternative to buffets are welcome as recommendations;
    - I would like to have ideas for low range, mid range and high range to have a variety of tiers to consider.

    TIA.

    I've had good large-group meals at Lupo (Italian) at Mandalay Bay, and also at Michael Mina Pub 1842 at MGM Grand. I know you said no preference, but if you can at least give a little bit of general guidance it'd be helpful, since there are truly a ton of options spanning a huge range of cuisines and price ranges. The criteria you listed basically encompass every restaurant on that end of the Strip.

    You might have fun trying RX Boiler Room at MB. The menu is diverse and has some nice twists.

    every trip we make it a point to go to Hussong's Cantina in the shops between Luxor and Mandalay Bay.
    its really good Mexican food, and the margaritas are some of the best.

    Slice of Vegas (MB) may be a good option for a group. Good pizza. Plus they almost always have a Restaurant.com gift certificate. Disk's Last Resort always seems to have customers having a good time, but seems like typical chain restaurant food. Buca di Beppo serves food family style, but looks like it gets mixed reviews.

    I would advise avoiding the MB buffet. The food was terrible.

    Like others have said, give additional parameters to point us in aore narrow direction!

    We had a great time at the Foundation Room at the top of the Mandalay Bay. Admission to the lounge is free from 5 PM to 9 PM (which includes the outdoor patio) and they have numerous items on their small-plates menu. Price is a little high end. The outdoor view is a definiate plus.

    I agree with the others... We need some more info in order to best help. The Mandalay Bay complex alone has over thirty places to eat.

    A couple of things may help narrow it down. Cuisine preference? Approximate budget?

    At MB, I really enjoyed brunch at Border Grill and dinner at Strip Steak.

    Yes, more info is needed. Any type of cuisine, at any price range, buffet or regular....your parameters literally describe every restaurant there is.

    I didn't realise I was being so vague everyone, excuse me.

    Hopefully the following will help:

    - The meals will be for a celebration so I would like to exclude things like burgers and fries.
    - Also due it being a celebration perhaps somewhere that has a nice range of desserts on offer.
    - Somewhere that also has a nice consideration of healthy options such as salads.
    - Not solely these options but to try and help narrow it down maybe Mediterranean/Turkish, Japanese, Spanish.

    For a buffet, head all the way south to Studio B at M Resort.

    For something different, try Killer Shrimp.

    No one mentioned Tropicana. There are 3 good options at Trop. Biscayne Steak and Sea is very good and they have a wonderful wine list; reservation required. Bacio, the Italian restaurant is also very good; reservation required. On the lower end the Beach Cafe has a good varied menu and reasonably priced. Depending on the time of year, there is terrace seating poolside as well. No reservation required.

    For a quieter experience, I like Veranda in the Four Seasons inside MBay. Most people think of it as a breakfast or brunch place since its poolside but their lunch and dinner menu is quite fresh and varied. I think it's a Charlie Palmer restaurant. Can dine at a "celebrity" chef restaurant but not as high priced as his signature steakhouse although the steakhouse has some steak specials on from time to time. Veranda is away from the crowds, some like that but some want to be in the mix of things and would prefer to be up in restaurant row by the MBay's casino.

    This is very helpful.

    There's not much I can think of off the top of my head at that end of the Strip in terms of either Mediterranean/Turkish (for that, your best options are probably Estatorio Milos at Cosmopolitan, or Cleo at SLS) or Spanish (Jaleo at Cosmo and Julian Serrano at Aria are both excellent options there). For sushi, there are a lot of places in that vicinity, but I might suggest Kumi, at Mandalay Bay. It's not the absolute best, pure sushi joint in Vegas, but there are a bunch of interesting dishes on the menu beyond the standard rolls and nigiri/sashimi, along with plenty of lighter salads and shared plates, plus it's a beautiful space with a great vibe.

    How FAR south? Where are you staying? Avoiding transportation is allows a factor in my mind.

    I agree with the suggestion for either Jaleo or Julian Serrano. I have enjoyed both. The small plate make it easy to adjust for appetites or budget. I lean slightly towards Jaleo but could not fault either.

    Jaleo is very good, but Jose Andres grates on me a bit. He's a bit too "celebrity", even in the celebrity chef category; he's a great chef and definitely knows how to design a menu, but I do think there's something to be said for how Chef Serrano's only restaurants are in Vegas and he's in the kitchen pretty much every day (I've seen him at his namesake Aria restaurant on multiple occasions, and the staff there and at Picasso all have said that they interact with him regularly). I feel like Serrano is still connected to his restaurants, whereas Andres puts his name on things but then basically leaves them alone.

    That being said, the most important part is the food, and either one is worthwhile.
