My comps are all over because I'm so inconsistent

    Does anyone else have this playing problem?

    I am in Vegas 3-5 times per year for varying reasons and my play really isn't consistent. When it's my first trip with someone, I'm more of a tour guide. Sometimes, it's just a good pitstop while I'm on my way to one of the amazing national parks in UT, AZ or CA. Or it's a bachelor's party and that will distract from gaming time as well.

    Usually it's not just a solid gaming trip. Last year I put in $120,000k but it was probably like this: 70, 5, 30, 2, 13, 5

    And so the offers I get are all over as well. I'll get a property offer two weeknights free from Luxor, then 4 nights with over 300 in RC & FP as my Spring Offer to Luxor, then some BOGOs for all properties for my Summer offer and then 3 nights free everywhere for my Fall.

    The simple answer is the have much less variance but I really do plan my Vegas trips around the people and activities and then gambling, so that probably won't change. Any thoughts on the best way to manage comps and hosts with this style of play?

    I play enough to have offers from multiple properties/groups. When I have a "normal" trip, where I know I'm going to get my time in on the casino floor, I'm booking through my host and staying at Mirage or Bellagio. If I have a trip where I know I'm going to not get as much play in, or I know I'm going to be doing non-gaming stuff, or even if I'm going with a group that I know will have me in non-Mlife casinos, then I book a room through CET (or V/P if I can get it). CET has such a low bar for comps that even my minimal play will get me full comps at any property outside of NOBU. I won't get any extras like I do with Mlife, but I don't care. That way my host at Mirage/B stays happy, my comps at those properties don't suffer, and I don't feel any pressure to try to squeeze in play when the trip doesn't allow for it.

    If you're only doing 120k coin in for the year you just have to take what they mail you.

    With that kind of volatility in your play level, there isn't much you can do.

    If you somehow knew exactly what MLife's schedule was for calculating and releasing offers, you might be able to game it, but that would also require you to schedule your trips based around that.

    In my opinion hosts will not be happy with your play. I actually have the similar pattern and similar total coin-in.
    Just like shifter said above, take whatever you got. Fortunately for me, I got more than I ever needed.
    When I play, I follow my feeling (or superstition as people want to call it) and never cared about comps or hosts.
    More than once I stayed at Aria and the only activities I had there was to run through the free play and cash out;
    never played a single penny with my money for the entire stay because I feel unlucky in Aria. Their rooms are very nice though.
    Did it hurt my offers? I guess it did but I cared no less because I have more offers than I could possibly use
    and I never ever paid a penny on room(and I am not talking about Excalibur/Luxor), food and drink in Vegas.

    The best thing that ever happened to my comps was when I slowly went from Platinum to Pearl. I get better offers now than ever before.
