Table Games Outdoor Gaming on the Las Vegas Strip

When I'm in Las Vegas, I mainly play blackjack and craps. I like to play whenever I'm not otherwise occupied. But I don't like to play in a casino during the day, because it often leaves me feeling a tad bit like a degenerate. But, if i simply move my gaming outdoors, poolside, it makes a world of difference to my psyche. When I'm outside, I'm on vacation.

As this is the case, I'm always looking for a good game of cards or dice in the Sun. I have an upcoming trip May 6-9 at the Bellagio, and it turns out that the only place that any outdoor gaming is offered at any of the MGM properties is at Moorea Beach at Mandalay Bay. I'm not too keen to trek all the way down to MB and jump through whatever hoops might be necessary to get in Moorea Beach, so I'm looking for alternatives. Below are the games I know of. All of them require a cover charge, varying between $20 and $85. Would appreciate hearing from others as to what other outdoor games are available on the Strip.

• Hard Rock - Craps ($5-$10, 3/4/5) and Blackjack ($10-$25, 3:2)
• Marquee Day Club - Blackjack ($25+, 3:2)
• Encore Beach Club - Craps ($15+, 2x) and Blackjack ($25+, 3:2)

 

Not sure I'm seeing the problem.

If you want to essentially be outside (but not quite), go over to Harrah's. They have (or at least had the last time I was there) a craps table right next to casino entrance by the Carnival Court. There is no door/window there, so you're just feet from the sunshine, and I guess you could go bask in it between rolls.

 

Some of the tables in the Margaritaville casino are very close to being outside, especially the craps table.

 

I love playing craps at Margaritaville, especially if it is nice outside and they have the doors open. There are blackjack tables located in Carnival Coury also.

 

Flamingo and Caesars pools have blackjack. I am not sure what the cover is.

 

Flamingo used to have a craps tub outside as well

Tropicana pool has Blackjack.

 

Carnival Court has outdoor tables. You can access any gaming tables by request without being a guest of that property. Just let them know you are there to play.

 

Good call on Carnaval Court. That might be an evening destination. Flamingo sounds like a good option for the day, too.

 

Didn't it used to be the case that if a pool area had table games, they had to let the general public in, regardless if one was a guest of the property or not?

I think the main Wynn and Encore pools (aside from the Beach Club) at least used to have tables, and I'm not sure if they still do and what the minimums are and whether one has to pay a cover.

 

Yes, it's law that casinos can't deny the public access to gaming areas. They can of course charge covers, make you wait on line, etc. I assume that once you are in a pool area with gaming, if you go gamble for a bit, no one is going to keep track of you and kick you out if you decide to cash out later on and hit the pool and/or pool bar.
