This was my first stay at the M Resort! I must say that I was impressed. Gave them some brief play last October and got a 2 night comped offer with a free buffet and some free play in the mail 2 months later. Decided to double book with my Linq offer (Linq was for 5 days) for the weekend since we were going to see the Commodores out at Primm (Bills) and the M is halfway between the strip and Primm! Packed a little over night bag for Saturday night! Room was comparable to any room at the Red Rock Hotel!!

Our room, starting with the shower/bathroom area was fantastic! Jacuzzi tub/separate shower with sitting area in shower (I love it) and his/her sinks! The wife definitely loved the room!! . This has to be 1 of the best kept secrets in Vegas. The gaming was good too! Hit the "all small bet" twice in craps ( 35 to 1) and also got 2 dime royals ($400.00 each). The wife made $$ on VP too! Casino was always clean and smoke free! And their "Vig" deli had the most extensive list of goodies I've ever seen at an all night deli! (10 a.m. - 7 a.m.)!

Sportsbook is real tight on drink tickets (one of 2 downsides). Only the supervisor can give out tickets!!!! I found this out after betting $200.00 and walking away realizing that the guy didn't offer me a single drink ticket. I don't drink booze so it really wasn't a big thing until later on when I ordered a coffee at the sports-bar (while watching the S. F. Austin v Notre Dame game). The bar maid handed me the coffee and I tipped her $1.00 She gladly took the buck and then said "$2.50 for the coffee unless you have a drink ticket"! WTF. I went back to the guy who did my bets ( and for whom I also booked a 3 team parlay for $5.00, which I promptly gave, the ticket, to him, as a way of trying to look out for the teller). When I went back to him, he informed me that he remembered my bets but that only the supervisor can give out tickets. He promptly sent me to said supervisor who gave me...1 drink ticket! (tough sportsbook!!!!).

The other downside was that I charged approx $32.00 worth of room charges to our room. I figured that if I gave some decent play then some or all of the charges would be wiped out, at check out. I (believe) that I put over 10,000 pts on my card Saturday/Sunday morning. When I checked out I asked registration desk person to please have someone look at my play and see what they could knock off my bill, leaving the rest on my credit card. I definitely expected something to come off. Not a dime was removed.

On the flip side (and this is very important to me). The customer service of "Patricia" who works the promo desk can not go unnoticed! Sunday morning I discovered that I had earned a free buffet (for earning 2,000 pts) and a "cooler" ( for earning 500 points) because of the points that I had earned over the weekend.I figured that I go pick up the cooler and the free buffet ( I had a coupon with my room offer for the other buffet). And then head to the strip.

I went to the cooler distribution and the lady gave me 3 coolers stating that I had earned the maximum. I asked her would these 3 coolers affect my free buffet to which she responded "no, you still have plenty points left for that promo"! Took coolers to room, which really surprised wife, and proceeded to buffet. Upon reaching the cashier, she informs me that I don't have enough points for the free buffets because I got 3 coolers WTF (pt2). I explained to her that I was assured that I still had plenty points to which she responded (rather politely I might add) that I didn't. I went ahead and just paid for the 2nd buffet since we had waited in line and I was starving (but pissed).

I saved my receipt and later went back to the cooler distribution location and found the 2 people who insisted that I was good for the buffet. "Patricia " looked at my record again and confirmed that I had enough points and that she would meet me at the buffet counter. When I got to the buffet she was there waiting for me. In a matter of minutes she straightened out the confusion with the buffet manger, who also apologized and refunded me my $40.00 for the buffet. That's customer service!!! That, the M rooms, the clean casino, Vig Deli and the overall good feeling I got from playing at the M will be the reason I return. But you can put PATRICA at the top of the list. That's how you treat your customers. Thanks M...and Patrica!

Good to hear - I loved the M but only visited and did not stay there.

    What a beautiful property.

I've played, but not stayed there yet. I liked it. I remember the guy at the slot club was so nice when we signed up for cards. Everyone there is friendly. It's definitely on my list of places to stay in the future. I'll try to give them some action in June and maybe get a comp for sometime down the road.

Yeah, I put the M on the same list at Red Rock and GVR. They're definitely not the same experience as you would get at the other resorts you pass on the way there; South Point and Silverton.

Hoping for another offer to stay this summer.

M Resort is a favorite of the wife and I as well. We've been receiving the 2 free nights, free play and buffet with VIP line pass offers for a few years now. A must stay every trip.

We used to go there regularly and were even upgraded to a suite once when we checked in very late. Love the casino floor, love the buffet but we stopped going there because of an incident we had there. We had been getting free rooms and buffets for quite awhile and, one time when we had to stay an extra day in Vegas because a snowstorm back east prevented us from getting home (horrors!) we were scrambling for a place to stay. We knew we had offers for M so we drove over there and asked for a room and were denied because we didn't have the offer with us. Fortunately, GVR was happy to accommodate us and we haven't been back to M since then. Of course, ownership has changed since then and I'm sure things are better now. We just haven't been able to get back there because we're already spread too thin but I do miss going there.

Never stayed, but have seen rooms online and they look great. I liked the casino floor and found some decent vp. My local friends took me to the buffet for dinner once and it was very good. Prices have really climbed since though. They had been regulars until the cafe (which they loved), was replaced with HHAGG. While it might be a good value, unless you split a plate or take a doggy bag, it's pricey for breakfast. Downgrading of much of the vp was the last straw. They no longer visit and haven't for a long time. I would guess that they ran though their comp and that was it. Beautiful property though.

    Good Luck!

VP was actually pretty good! They have full pay A-C-E-S bonus, Bonus poker, Double Bonus, Double Double Bonus and Deuces Wilds (44)

Overall the M's paytables are not as good as RR, GVR or SP but that 8/5 ACE$ is a dead-even game with double points (0.6% cash back) and every day is double points day for VP.
The free buffet deal is incredible since you get to keep your points. Only $2K coin in on VP for weekend seafood buffet. That's pretty easy if you're playing dollars.
The drink comp situation in the sportsbook is dreadful but I guess all Cantor shops are like that. They'll give you more if you're betting ponies, but you still have to go through the supervisor. I don't even bother any more.

    I'll be there Derby weekend for about my 15th visit so it can't be that bad:}

I was there on Derby day last year and actually hit two royals on the same five-play 25cent machine...was just there for the Florida Derby and basketball Saturday.

Here's some more "good" news from the sportsbook...they still give out drink tickets ONLY for the horses and now you have to wager $100 to have the honor of begging a supv for one. The fact that you got a drink ticket for a sports bet is the upset of the year as that never happens. Cantor definitely sucks and they ruined the Palms too. The other negative is there is no wi-fi in the sportsbook. Just to add to the joy, the ticket takers are about 70% rude which means there are only 3-4 who I try to seek out since another of their "customer service" brainstorms is to purposely understaff so you buy into their online app. I've been going to GVR and Sunset a lot more for sports viewing.

Other than that, I do like the M...as you said the rooms are great. For locals, they have excellent give-aways of higher quality items that are actually useful including a lot of liquor. The buffet used to be better, but still is pretty good especially since they are generous with comps. BTW...there is a big sign in front of the buffet indicating that you cannot "double up" on using the same points for both the buffet and merchandise.

The fitness center is also very nice. We use the M as our "country club" and it has become our local fav...if only they got rid of Cantor which is now called CG Technology by the way.

If thunderstorms are predicted in Vegas book a high room, Strip-view at M, order up some room service and watch the best light show in town. Last time it happened we had about three hours of watching a storm proceed through the valley, dropping lightening strikes everywhere and looking freaking awesome!

Love the buffet, love the service, love the rooms. All in all a class place.

The same company that runs M also runs the Tropicana. The bus is shuttling between the two. Perhaps their player cards will be linked too.

Rick reported in his TR that the Player's Cards won't be linked; he just returned from Tropicana. This really surprised me. Now that Trop has the shuttle, I should finally be able to make it over there.

You're an easy going guy Champster...between the drink tickets at the Sportsbar, the mix up in getting your free buffet and not having anything comped off the back end, coupled with the M location, I'd probably be looking elsewhere for my next stay. I do hope to visit and try the buffet that gets such rave reviews.

    That's incorrect.

    http://www.troplv.com/las-vegas/casino/players-club

All of their properties are linked in the Marquee club

I received that email from Trop but his host advised that though they are joining Marquee it won't be connected to M. It seems really odd to me too; how would one casino be kept out of the mix?

The shuttle is running from Trop to M so it seems strange.

Guess I'll find out for sure in May.

Well his host is saying one thing but the website is pretty clear that the Trop will issue a standard Marquee card like all their other properties. I can't imagine why they would issue the same card at the Trop and yet keep it separate from all of their other properties.

Me either; I wonder if his host drinks lol (or maybe I do). Asking Rick if it was, in fact, his host who said that or if info came from a bad source.

Hi Vic, I just texted my host at Tropicana and he said the two will be linked; Marquee for both. I will let my pal Rick know. It did seem odd.
