Looking at flying our of Toronto and using comped rooms at the Aria. The best I can find is on Expedia and it's about $500 to fly in. Are there any other sites or ways of shaving the price down? I am trying to do a quick trip as inexpensive as possible on the travel end.

    Thanks!

If that's a non stop flight both ways, book it now. It's a decent price.

You might try looking at one-way flights. Thats how we have to book because when looking at round trip flights the prices are pretty high and thats usually because the flights down are cheap but the flights home are expensive... so by doing it with one-way flights I find a cheap flight down and a cheap flight home.

If your days are flexible make sure to check different days of the week. At our local airport there are more flights to Las Vegas on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays so those are the cheaper days to fly because for Saturdays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays less flights have the seats filling up faster.

With 255 days to go you still have quite a bit of time before your trip. If you've flown that trip before you should have a good idea whats an acceptable price... you might want to wait a couple of months and just keep checking to see if prices go down and if the price gets to a price you are happy with then book it. In your case prices might go down because in the second week of December not that many people are going to Las Vegas.

If you are in Toronto you might look at the cost of flying out of a nearby airport, particularly one in the USA. US domestic flights are usually a fair bit cheaper than Canada/US international flights.

Thanks. I was actually thinking of going next month. The closest airport is Buffalo and even so it's a bit of drive and they don't offer direct flights.

buffalo offers direct flights but its only via southwest. there are usually two flights going out. when the dollar was better it was actually cheaper to fly out of buffalo... at least for me. i get to hit the casino on the way there and duty free for the trip.

out of toronto, direct I was finding 250 there and 250 back was the average.

I generally fly SW out of Buffalo to LV. With the current $, it is about even between BUF and YYZ if you book lowest fares. Buffalo is a much easier airport to get into and out of and around. Love SW for the no baggage fees. As stated there are two flights per day both at decent times. SW also has a pretty decent connection via midway if you have to do it which I have done with much wait time. Both WJ and AC have two flights each out of YYZ bu,t they each have a redeye coming home. Not my thing but, if you want that, it is an option. As stated $500 is pretty decent. If you are really frugal, check out Cleveland and Detroit options with Spirit and Frontier, but factor in drive time, gas and extra fees they charge. As also stated, Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday are your cheapest flights out of YYZ.

500 is decent but to answer the question I use google flights, it's very flexible across many airlines and quite accurate, much faster than one might think. Takes some getting used to and tinkering but work the try. One way tickets are also anidea

I have flown from Buffalo to Vegas many times. Direct flights on SWA usually run around 200-225 each way, sometimes less if you catch a sale and can fly on Tues or Wed. Airport is easy to get to, parking is a breeze and airport is very easy to get around in.

as one poster mentioned, I find that google flights will give you the best idea of when it is the cheapest to fly. I use that website to narrow it down, then go to the airlines booking website to actually book the flight. Just play around with the google website, enter in your origin and destination, put in your dates (doesn't have to be exact). Click on the calendar icon next to your flight date and it brings up all sorts of options and filters (like number of stops, airlines, etc). Since I am very flexible on my trips, I tend to look under price graphs and find the cheap flights that coincide with my room offers. You can scroll back and forth month by month on the price graph screen and change the number of days for your trip. I think it is great!

My advice is get a Westjet Mastercard. I use mine for everything and pay the balance in full and it results in 3 or 4 free flights per year. You also get companion flights in the US for $99, Caribbean $299. Only do this if you are disciplined and pay in full. I fly Westjet direct to Vegas. Try their website as $500 seems high but prices do vary. Westjet has regular sales; typically once a month.

I got one of these last year, $250 sign-up bonus plus the $99 companion flight once a year. Plus if you pay for a Westjet flight on the card you get double rewards. The only downside is out of Toronto I think the only direct return is a red-eye. Breanna, can you confirm?

I'm up to over $600 on this card.

We have an Avion VISA from RBC, this one is good because there are no restrictions on reward flights. Any airline, any time, up to a certain $ ticket value. We almost have enough for two tickets. Guess where we'll go with those.

I have one of these Westjet mastercards too, it is my go to card except for groceries and fuel ( I get 4% cash back with my Scotia Visa Infinite card, groceries add up when you have 2 teenage boys!)......Westjet used to have a nice price guarantee on their flights as well, but it is no longer available.
And the Westjet mastercard gives you one free check-in bag per person booked under that name(up to 6 people, I believe). I even got free bags on an airmiles flight I had booked. It works well for us!

There are two direct flights into Vegas daily; one in the morning at 9:50 am and one at 8:50 pm. Return from Vegas, there are two direct flights one at 12:20 pm and one at 11:30 pm.

I am always looking for flights out of Toronto.

Agreed that Buffalo was once a good rate with Southwest but with the currency exchange it is no longer a deal for us. Last year I took 5 flights to Vegas and paid no more than $600 . We are no longer willing to do the red eye so we have to pay for the privilege of leaving Vegas early in the day. If you don't care day of the week or time you fly you can score some deals. Besides AC we have flown Sunwing. I know it gets hate out there but I actually prefer them over Rouge these days. Leaving this Thursday and paid only $360 each return on Sunday. This is an awesome deal. It's no frills but hey - so is AC these days.

I always fly out of montreal direct for about $500 return, air canada rouge. Westjet used to have direct flights too but they stopped flying out of Montreal for some reason. Lowest I've seen in years out of Toronto or montreal was about $450 direct with a seat sale. Once flew out of Syracuse for about $400 when the exchange was better but it's almost a 3 hr drive, not worth it for me!

Thanks everyone looks like there isn't too much of a difference. We have flown out of Toronto with Westjet twice leaving on the am flight and we enjoy it. On a check today Air Canada was about $500 and Westjet was more.

I applied for the Westjet Visa, the one with the $99 companion offer and 250 points. See how it goes. I used a Holiday Inn card for a year and dumped it after I found I wasn't a big fan of their places but got a free stay in Niagara Falls for New Years last year. I also have the Marriott Premium card on the go. No fee for the first year, one free stay in a Class 4 (which there aren't many of around here) and a bunch of points.

When Allegiant starts flying out of Ogdensburg, you might have a better option.

honestly, I would wait until you're a little closer to your departure date.
last year, I booked my late August YYZ-LAS flught in the middle of February on Air Canada. Once the summer rolled around, I went to check the prices of the flights I had booked (for some damn reason, just curiosity I guess) and they were like $150 less.

normally they have seat sales a couple of months out.

One other thing though, if you fly Air Canada, you're gonna get 'Rouged'. AC has made all of its YYZ-LAS Rouge flights. I'm a lifelong Air Canada flyer, and I have a significant amount of family that actually works for the airline, but flying Rouge is so awful I'm going Westjet next time, irrelevant to the cost of the flight.

    +1 on Rouge.

Westjet offers price protection, so that could be a factor.
