Any recent information on Hooters? I'll be there for a week in May. For the price I decided to stay there rather than my usual PH. I normally don't worry about safety on strip (I'm 6'2" 210), but I am a little worried about walking the off-strip stretch from Trop to Hooters later at night. Should I cab it after midnight?

It's a 3 minute walk from the Trop entrance to Hooters. The Trop and Hooters parking lots are right beside each other and well lit, so you'll be fine...besides...there's no hooligans at that end of the strip!

I am much shorter and lighter than you and I walked that stretch at night several times (1am-3am). Never had any issue.

Like others here, I've walked that block or two from the Trop to Hooters at all different times of day or night and have never had an issue.

I don't think you will have a problem; however, I was at Hooters a few years back and a brawl broke out in the port cochere. It looked like a group of locals fighting over some sort of domestic dispute and this was in broad daylight.

Shouldn't be a problem. On a couple of trips I stayed at the Motel 6 further down the street. Had no issues at any time of day.

I've stopped at Desert Rose Resort a couple of times which is at the back of Hooters. I never had any problems walking across the car parks at night.

Just wanted to provide an update after my trip. Safety never felt like an issue walking back to Hooters at 2 AM. I thought my room was just fine. Nothing fancy, but clean enough. I would give it my thumbs up to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced, just off-strip place to stay. Tipping $2/drink yielded great cocktail service. I would not suggest you go to the Hooters restaurant for the 24/7 breakfast. So bad. Craps you are a cruel mistress. Great trip!

Hooters was my first hotel in Vegas, and unfortunately I didn't like it at all. I think it has a loser vibe. I highly recommend against it, I'd rather pick Excal, Luxor etc, they must be similarly priced. The latter ones are both one-two step up from Hooters and they are on the strip. I would even pick Rio over Hooters, despite the distance to Strip and Rio is usually priced very low.
