Pros: Easy to accumulate comps. Very good video poker, lots of 9/6 JoB. Good low minimum table games. Good steakhouse, Hugo's. Good video poker bar up front.
Cons: Fair beds...only fair. Rooms just a step up from Motel 6.

I stayed at the FQ last year, and had a great time --- even the "nicer" rooms toward the top of the hotel are kind of smoky, not that pretty --- so don't plan on spending a ton of time in your hotel room. Make sure you request a higher floor room so you're not too close to the noise of Fremont Street.

The casino itself is fun and super convenient --- great outside bars to just chill at and play some video poker. Food options are good for a quick bite, I've never eaten at the Steakhouse but apparently it's very, very old school if you're into that. You're within walking distance to every other nearby Fremont Street casino.

Also, you can use the Binion's hotel rooftop pool across the street --- even though the Binion's hotel itself has been closed for a while, FQ purchased the property partially for the pool. It offers amazing views and is kind of a neat experience when you consider how few true rooftop pools are left in Las Vegas. As a New Englander, I recommend stopping at the Fremont Casino's Dunkin Donuts for a nice iced coffee before you head up

Oh yeah, no resort fee either.

smerrian hit it on the head with rooms "just a step up from Motel 6." But really, who goes to Fremont Street for the hotel rooms? You'll sleep fine.

I would like to re-emphasize the noise issue. I have stayed in a room on the FSE side, and with a band playing it was loud until about 2:30. I had an early flight and wanted to get to sleep at a decent time. It didn't happen.

As has been said, the rooms are nothing much. I had a standard room with the smallest bathroom I have ever had in a Vegas room, and I don't stay at nice places.

I stayed there a couple years ago. The noise from FSE was unbearable and the casino smell was just bad. Kind of a mix between swamp thing and a french bordello.

The worst thing was the piped in elevator from hell music. I think my ears started bleeding when they played the Joan Baez dirge .... Diamonds and Rust

On a positive note.... loved Magnolias and the Chicago Brewing Company

What would be better between Four Queens, Plaza, and El Cortez?

of those 3, I would pick 4Q. No resort fee and middle of FSE. Of course if you don't mind walking a little more, Plaza and elcortez are fine. We are Boyds because of comps. MSS, Cal and Fremont also have no resort fee. Plaza pool to open in June? if that is important. 4Q uses Binion pool.

I stayed at the 4Qs a couple of years ago. Room was updated and clean. My only complaint was the lack of a comfortable chair. I like to watch morning and afternoon news. Chairs are straight back dining type. Magnolias and especially Chi Brew Co are great. To avoid FSE noise, just ask for a room away from the street. This goes for all in the area.

I like the ElCo. Tower rooms are good and fridges along with a sitting area. The restaurants lack, but there's Fremont East, Container Park and you're just a couple of blocks from the main DT area.

Never stayed at the Plaza, but rooms look decent online. Of course, most do. I've checked rates numerous times and the really seem to rollercoaster.

Another I liked was the Fremont. Rooms are small but comfortable, usually with good rates and no resort fee. The 2nd Street Grill is very good. The T-Bone special for about $23-24 is one of the best specials in town.

    Hope this helps.

    Good Luck!

If you stay at 4Q ask for the south tower, south facing room. That should take care of the FSE noise. Had a comped room for my son back in October in the south tower but it faced FSE. He said that it was not to much of an issue.

The plaza has the better rooms large and updated. The bathroom is weird. Plaza has a nicer pool area and exercise room.

I would go with El Cortez Tower or Cabana Suite if you wanted to spend a little more. Main reason Quitter!

I'll show the 4Q some love. Granted, the rooms are only OK, but mine have always been clean, which is really all I care about. Very few of us spend a whole lot of time in the room, anyways. I really like Hugo's and the Chicago Brewing Company, and I think Magnolia's is a good coffee shop. If you're a video poker player, their cashback rate is high and the comp earning rate is higher. Throw in pretty generous free slot play and I always feel like I have a fair shot of heading home ahead or at least behind by less than the value of the comped rooms and food.

The caveat is that I'd pass is blackjack is your game of choice. The last time I was there, most of the blackjack was 6/5 and had been for years. There are a couple of 3/2 blackjack tables.

The other caveat I'd give is that yes, it can be noisy if you're facing FSE, but I can sleep through anything so that's not a factor for me.

4Q's was clean for me both times I stayed there. I had a freemont view and I don't remember a problem with the noise, but then again I also travel with a fan. It's a great location and I have never had a bad meal at Magnolias. Breakfast...dinner..never.
