Grazie Slot Tournament Questions

I recently returned from V/P and see I have a slot tournament in my June calendar. When I click on the link I get a number to call, but no other details. I will call when I get a chance, but I am just wondering if this is typically just a tournament entry or if things like rooms, freeplay, etc. would be included? Also, how does one of these compare to the daily tournaments they run- those didn't seem to be anything to really go out of your way for, is this any different?

 

I used to get these offers. The slot tournament always had like $25k in prizes with like 7,500 cash up top. It included three nights, usually sun-weds.

Mine didn't come with freeplay, I know others did though.

 

The $ 25,000 tournaments run over 3 days. The first day is for registration without tournament play on that day.
You can also come in for late registration on the second day but you have to do this by 9am.
We live iin Southern California so we often do this on a two day trip.
Sometimes offered freeplay with and sometimes not.
You're given 3 different sets of playing times. Each run a certain amount of minutes where you just bang away until the session is over.
Two sets of play on the first day and one on the second.
You have to play all 3 sets to be considered for a prize when results are tallied.
Tournament gemerally runs on the casino floor near the Grand Lux at the Palazzo.

 

If you see a slot tournament on your June calendar, you normally also get a mailer at home or email with the details.
If not, call the number on your online offer and they can give you details.
There are a limited number of seats/slots for each tournament, so if interested, don't wait too long to book (I did that once and missed out on using that offer).
The slot tournament invitation includes 3 complimentary nights, occasionally small amount of Free Play or small amount of resort credit towards food - but not often for slot tournament offers.
These tournaments are very different than the daily ones as Ardee outlined very well in an earlier post.
Announcements are made throughout the tournament as to the time and place awards are announced, also the time FP will be posted to your card or go to the Players Club (Grazie desk) for information.
The mailer will show the exact payouts - from 1st place to usually about 100th place - sometimes the 1st prize is cash, but it seems lately, all prizes are in freeplay.
FYI - The non tournament offers are more generous with Free Play and F/B credits - it's always a good idea when calling about any offer to ask if you have any other offers available - I've sometimes found better offers via phone than the one I was calling about!

Great info, thanks. Do these tournaments usually happen every month? I am not planning on going back in June but July or August would be a possibility.

Hi paperposter - this is partly true based on one's expectation of a slot tournament. Not bad though when you get a comp'd room, doesn't cost anything to play, and someone is guaranteed to win 1st place, and $7500 in cash or free play (for this specific tournament) isn't exactly chump change for many. Plus, you still have plenty of time to do Vegas however you like.

For some it's the desire to win a big jackpot, for some it's a friendly competition, for some it's a social experience, for some it's a small part of a larger Vegas experience.
One added benefit at other properties like Mlife, Wynn, and Cosmo, to name a few - plenty of free food and drinks at the bar - just for showing up.

However, if you don't like waiting around til it's your turn to pound the keys, or you don't like keeping a schedule over a two day period when in Vegas, a slot tournament may not be a good choice.

To the OP:
Venetian/Palazzo has these types of slot tournaments every month, sometimes a little more frequent than that. The one at Halloween concludes with dinner and drinks and a costume contest - that one is a lot of fun! (regular tournaments - they hand out bottled water, no food or free booze).

 

This may well be your viewpoint, paperposter.

However, if a Vegas enthusiast receives an offer for 2 or 3 nights comped at his/her favorite resort hotel and were planning on a visit during that time, it's a damn good offer/ over a few days with a pretty equitable gain.

 

having to do 3 rounds over 2 days that start in the morning to me is alot of work for a little gain especicaly since there are tons off people invited.

 

It's not always comped. Like pretty much any other offer, it depends on your level of play.

I get the "invitations" to participate in the tournaments paired with not-that-great rates for the rooms.

 

I stand corrected, BreakEven - I didn't realize that not all slot tournament invitations included comp'd rooms.. That would make a difference!
