Local Woman Hits 933K Jackpot at McCarran

McCarran posted the win on twitter and the LVRJ reports that on March 22nd a local woman waiting for a flight out of McCarran hit the 933K WOF jackpot on a 25 cent denomination machine. I may start giving McCarran more play as apparently 3 large jackpots have hit there recently.

For slots...probably. They are some of the worst available. Quarter VP is 95-96% at best as well. But each year I'm guessing the Strip keeps inching closer to the Airport. Penny slot holds on the Strip is about 12-13% right now. Of course the only time I hit back to back quads on single line VP was at McCarran. Too bad I was only playing 25c per hand.

 

I put $5 in a machine on my way out and played 25 cents a spin. Won $40 in 5 minutes. Wish the rest of the trip had that kind of luck!

 

I won $500 on .25 WOF at McCarran.

Anybody besides me automatically reaches for your players club card when getting up from a machine at the airport? Wow, how we develop such reflex habits!

 

I need that to happen to me at the START of a trip.

 

I would immediately extend my vacation a few days if I hit it on the way out

 

This has me wondering if the holds on Megabucks, Wheel of Fortune, etc. are the same no matter where you play? I know they're notoriously high on these mega-progressives... but would the hold on a Megabucks machine be the same at McCarran as it is at Caesar's as it is at the D?

 

I've run $200 through one of those machines, and not hit ONE symbol.
