Robe or no robe?

I've never used a hotel robe. I'm not a huge germ-a-phobic person. Well, maybe a tad. I do bring Lysol wipes and clean the phones, remote and toilet seat. I assume they bleach the robes. However, you cannot count on guests to do the right thing. Are they laundered even if they look as if they haven't been touched? I would love to save the room in my suitcase that my fluffy robe occupies.

Am I being too paranoid? Do you use the robes?

 

Too funny. I am JUST like you. I bring lysol or clorox wipes and I too wipe down all of the same items, plus door handles, safe screen, drawers, etc. I am glad I am not alone! I have never actually thought about your question though! I feel comfortable in assuming that they are laundered after every guest visit just like the linen is. I certainly use mine when I stay at Encore!

 

I use them and never think twice. Look at it this way: do you use the hotel towels? Other guests rub those all over their body. Someone simply wearing a robe seems like nothing compared to what might be done with those towels

Newly laundered hotel towels have a distinct odor. Sniff the robes- if they have that same odor I think you're good to go.

 

Do you wear them just in the room....or outside to the pool?? I don't know why, but I always get a chuckle when I see a couple wearing those white waffle weave Bellagio robes to the pool.

 

My wife and I have the staff swap out the robes in the room for new robes as part of the room set-up we spec out. They also set up coffee service, the bar, special pillows and bath supplies. We learned this from cruising - staff will set up and stock the room any way you want it (if you're willing to foot the bill).

Rarely. They don't always fit and they aren't always comfy.

 

I've only enjoyed the Mirage, Delano and Bellagio ones. Don't think the Cosmo and Aria ones are that comfy.

 

I lounge around in them before I shower and then hang them back up perfectly, exactly as I found them, with the little paper thing strip back on.

 

And there's the reason I don't wear them lol

 

Probably the reason why I don't wear a hotel robe is the caliber of hotels I stay at don't offer that luxury. If a robe was available, I would wear it just so I could say that I have.

 

No way. No telling what perverted sex that thing has been involved in.

 

Yes, I wear it even though it's huge. My husband sometimes does and it's ridiculously small. He's 5'11 which is fairly standard.

One size does not fit all.

 

I don't use them much, because they rarely fit me. If they did, I would.

 

Ditto that, the should have that freshly laundered smell; I wear the ones at Aria. As long a good hotel, I'm not worried about it. Honestly, I am MUCH more germaphobic about bedding. I've had a job since the day I turned 16 and actually cleaned rooms before college (as one of my many youth odd jobs). Comforters are rarely cleaned, so even in nice hotels, I get the heebejeebies if they go for a comforter versus sheeted duvet.

I also always, always check the sheets just to be safe. Bedding freaks me out more than the robes. Robes are no work for a maid to swap out (as long as they have fresh ones on a cart). But changing bedding without fitted sheets? Much more time consuming so a great risk of cut corners.

Even on that, odds are very low you'd have to worry. But I am still not a fan of comforters in a hotel, no matter how nice the hotel.

 

This. Getting a bit paranoid about the robes yet use the towels doesn't make sense. But beware: Mr. Flusher figured a way of putting those robes back and making it look as if it was not used, LOL!

 

I've only stayed a few places that provide them and only put one on once for about two minutes. I haven't used a robe since I was a kid so it it's a comfort thing. Whether they get cleaned between guests is hard to say. They should be, but then, glasses hotels should be sanitary but.....................
