Are those rates that far out of the norm for Fri and Sat nights? They look about right to me.

I've never seen them that high.
I'm guessing that they will change once March Madness and the ACM awards are over in April.

Same here. Those are actually lower than what I'm seeing on a search I just ran myself for those exact dates.

If I were you I'd book direct with the hotel and try to get part of the cost comped off based on play. March Madness weekends won't be easy to find a good rate on.

I'm trying to get a room for Apr. 18th & 19th and have also run into the higher prices.

I had a comp for Gold Coast through March and was hoping to see another one pop up for April, but that wasn't the case and now I play the waiting game.

Do you think prices will go down? I'm pretty sure they're even more expensive than they were a month ago.

I hope prices go down or I get an April offer from one of the downtown properties.

Prices are usually high for Friday and sat night stays. But the problem is that your dates are only a little over 3 weeks away so by now the hotels are usually filling up so they usually raise their rates for the "last minute" guests. Also understand that you are looking at "post" tax time so people are looking at taking a break from taxes by going to vegas.

As for apr 18 and 19, there are still some decent prices. MSS and Cal is showing the 2 nights for $110 and that doesn't even include rates if you have a player's card.

I got my Mar-Apr offer from Golden Gate back in January...called in mid-Jan to book Apr 15-18 and although I was initially told the best they could do for those dates was casino rate, after a few minutes they agreed to fully comp the 3 nights. I'm a low-roller at best and this will be my first stay at GG, so I'm not sure if this is just an initial offer or if I just called early enough...

Unfortunately, 1) It's the weekend. 2) The second largest Convention starts in Vegas (NAB) on the 16th April. That's when about 100,000 people involved with Broadcast and Professional Television/Video descend on Vegas. All hotels ramp up their rates through to the 21st April this year (the duration of the show, though Wednesday and Thursday see a lowering of the rates usually). Then it's almost the weekend again....

Yup, that is one of the problems, if you are there during the busy weeks like NAB or new years you are out of luck trying to find a cheap hotel room. I was there last week during March Madness (not my choice, we had a bowling tournament) and prices were high for hotel, room and air. I was lucky, I reserved my car and hotel awhile ago so I got a "decent" rate. Air not as much but I had a 25% off coupon when I got my Hawaiian air cc so I used that to get a good rate.

Well, if you aren't particular...I did a kayak search, you can book a room at America's Best Value Inn near the airport for $118 (then you have to add in taxes and fees). Eastside Cannery on Boulder for $148 total, Arizona Charlie's Boulder for $162 (sans taxes and fees).

We are staying and have stayed many times during NAB week, but we always book early. We booked for this year back in November of last year at Four Queens during a promotion. The whole week is less than $350/tax. (and no resort fee's) Plus we will get a $50 credit back as we will request no housekeeping.

NAB is always the third full week in April every year, so plan accordingly. I love how busy it is during NAB, and have met lots of interesting folks during this week.

I "nabbed" a room for a cheap rate for those days from a mailer I got from westgate. I think it was like 35 bucks per night. I think I read that this is where they are even having the convention but I could be wrong about that. I have never stayed there and I only played there for like an hour on a previous trip. My mom was with me and they sent her a mailer for a free suite for those nights with free play and 2 rounds of golf for 2 people. She only played for like 30 min. I think we all knows who spends more:wink2:
