Staying at the Cosmo mid week and have a 2 queen studio terrace strip view from the west tower. it was a 40 dollar upgrade per night (2 nights) from the basic city room. Is there a better view i should suggest?
    East or west tower?
Strip or fountain view? can we get both?
Is the higher floor always better

I think higher floor is better, but its really a matter of what you prefer. The east tower Bellagio view is considered the premium view. I had that view last week while some friends had a strip view in the east tower. I thought both were very good. Only difference, really, is whether you want to watch the Bellagio fountains from your terrace. if that's important to you, you definitely want east tower with a Bellagio view. You can also see it form the west tower, but not as well

all due respect to UK but I disagree. The west tower has 360 degrees of terraces, and if you pay for the fountain view, you will have a good one. I cant say its better or worse than the east tower, since I honestly think they were about the same. Either way you wont find a hotel room in Vegas imo. The high floors at MB are awesome, but having those fountains right there from your own terrace cannot be beat

Having stayed in both towers, the West towers have great fountain views. East is also good, but lower floors look out at the Bellagio sign. Only a wraparound terrace will potentially give you both strip and fountain views.

IMHO, you don't want to be too high since Cosmo is higher than Bellagio, you end up looking over Bellagio and almost straight down on the fountains. I like being a bit lower so you feel the energy of the strip.

If you stay at the Cosmo, then you should ask for a north facing terrace room. The rooms overlook the Bellagio Fountains, and if you get a high enough floor (40+), you will get great views of the mountains. You can also see center part of the strip.

I suggest the west tower. The east tower can be nosier due to its proximity to the nightclubs.

I could careless about the noise, we are heavy sleepers (if we make it to bed). we are staying sunday monday so I think the club is closed anyway. The walk from either tower is not an issue for us. I think I am going to ask for east tower, north facing terrace mid floor so I can still "feel" the vibe of the strip and what not.

Thanks for the tips guys and gals! :)

We stayed at Cosmo in early March - 45th floor, West Tower, Terrace Fountain View Suite - awesome views of the fountains, mountains and the north strip and no noise.
We spent way more time on the terrace than I ever thought we would -a really special visual and spatial experience in Vegas.

I don't think you can go wrong with either - East or West Tower Fountain View.

These are my views on the cosmo, I've stayed with friends and with my gf about 6 times this year, I also have a reservation on 4/10-12 and 4/22-24. It's my new home in vegas.

    - I always book the Terrace Studio, they usually want to upgrade me to a one bedroom but it's the same SqFt. I don't think it's worth it if you're paying for an upgrade.
    - In the west tower I would ask for the Terrace Studio Angle, it has two bathrooms and a fountain view. I would pay the 30-50 per night extra for this.
    - If you want more stuff, get the Terrace Suite. it has a full kitchen, laundry room, and also two bathrooms. Also worth the upgrade fee.
    - I prefer the East Tower because it's closer to the strip and the elevators make it so that you don't have to go into the casino floor from the parking elevator.
    - I've had the fountain view in the west tower, it's nice but i'm over it I rather have a bigger room.
    - I've also had the strip view, it's nice if you're in a high floor 40+.
    - Be polite to the people at check-in they seem really helpful and even if you pay for an upgrade they'll cut you some sort of deal.

I just stayed on the 28th floor during MM and definitely thought the view was amazing. The club noise was noticeable but not a big deal to me.

I've always wanted to stay at the Cosmo, but I have a concern about the balconies. I do like to enjoy many beverages while in Vegas, and I'm afraid I'd tumble over the rail. Is that even possible, or would one have to virtually climb up and over? I had the same fear on the balcony of our last cruise ship, but it turned out ok. :) It is a serious question. How tall are the rails?

It would take some serious effort to go over the rails. They are tall enough that you wouldn't just fall over them.

Agree. Plus, it has a double handrail - with space between the two - even if you lean on the innermost handrail, it's hard to reach the outer handrail/glass rail. It would take real effort to 'tumble over'...
Take a look at utube 'Cosmopolitan terrace fountain view' lots of videos that show the terrace rail in detail. I was apprehensive as I don't like heights, but I ended spending a lot of time soaking up the view from the terrace.

I prefer east tower. Host provides east tower, pv wraparound that gives you fountain and strip view from balcony. East tower also provides quick access to strip and now sportsbook.
