I understand that 9/6 JOB is the best pay table but are there any preferable pay tables to look for on DDB

 

The best pay table would be 10/6 which is 100.08% with perfect play. There are not many of those around. The next is 9/6 at 98.99%.

 

9/6 jacks isn't the "best" payable but it certainly is the best combo of high return and low volatility.

So how do you know if a machine is 9/6 JOB?

 

9 units for a full house
6 units for a flush
per 1 unit bet

 

This was confusing for me too at first. Here's what a 9/6 JOB paytable looks like. You can see in the far left column the 9 for full house and 6 for a flush. The full house and flush are the most common differences between pay tables in the same game [but not always!], and the 4 of a kind and two pair payouts are the most common differences between types of games, like JOB, Bonus Poker, Double Bonus, Double Double Bonus, etc.

As above, VPFree2 and Wizard of Odds are great resources for checking how much a particular paytable returns. BUT, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, the return stated is when you play perfect strategy, and the strategy is different for each paytable. Thats where memorizing or using strategy cards comes in handy.

And yes, numbers like 9/6, 8/5, etc. represent the full house flush payout.

But yes, 10/6 is the best available for DDB, but you'll only find that offstrip. 9/6 DDB is the best you'll find on the strip, and that's usually at the dollar level or $5 level. Cosmo's 100 play machines on the main floor offer the game for dimes, and you only have to play a minimum of 2 lines while still betting 5 coins a line.

 

At MOST of the Indian casinos here in the Mid-west, we have the crappy 6-5 which is nuts. But, with no other choices, we're stuck. But, I also am confused. I went to vpfree2 and would someone PLEASE post a pic of what we're to look for?? Example, a pic of 100.76% FPDW would be great. How about 100.17% DB or 100.15% LDW--here's another I don't understand--99.73% NSUD???

 

Your best bet is to find a progressive DDBP machine. Typically the Royal, Quad aces w/kicker, Quad 2,3,4's with Kicker, Quad Aces no kicker, all pay progressive and can make the payout odds much better

 

You compare it the same way you do for jacks. Compare the left column with what vpfree2 is saying. Also dont forget that all of the different deuces wild favors have different strategies. The reported return rate is only if you play perfect strategy.

 

On VPfree, when you are looking at those %'s it will list the payouts in order by them as well.
