    Nice.

Just in time for St Pattys Day. Have fun watching the games today, one of the best times to be in Vegas. Soak it in and keep up the great report

How's your room at Linq? I like to read your review of Linq, as I will be staying at Linq in late April (comped room for 2 nights). Thanks.

    Wednesday night 3/16

On Wednesday night I returned the car and go a ride from Champ to the Linq where we both checked in. 5 guys in front of us in line to check in at diamond check-in and all wearing different NCAA shirts. They seemed like a fun bunch and were pre-gaming while checking in, plus they had a box of booze and mixers. I gave them a bottle of my Jameson Irish Whiskey to donate to the cause. I then checked in and got about the same room as last time. I like the rooms here a lot, but not really sure why. They are bright and the bed is comfortable. I'm also happy that diamond now gets the resort fee included so there is free wifi. Only played a little VP and called it a night.

    Thursday 3/17
Happy St. Patrick's Day and first day of MM!

Champ and I decided we didn't want to start out at 7am at Cosmo, that is just too early when in Vegas. We decided to meet at 8:30am and then head over to the Flamingo to check in for our comped event there. We quickly grabbed our wristbands for the 4 days and then got in line to make some bets - I bet on UNCW, Buffalo, and Arizona. Then we entered the event and found a table with some nice folks from Dallas and Cleveland who were rooting for Baylor and Purdue. The event is in a large conference room without about 8 large TVs showing all games. I would say our table had a rough day of losses for our favorite teams. For casino comp guests the bars served well drinks and beer and I think for tickets that were purchased only draft beer was included. For breakfast there was coffee, fruit and pastries. For lunch and dinner they had a Mexican fajita bar set up. Unfortunately Duke won, but game was close enough that I won that bet. I was getting antsy and wanted to go check out the Cosmo party since I only had the comp for one day and I really wanted to play for a bit there.

At Cosmo we got in the invited guest line and were given two tickets in an envelope, we then took those tickets to another line to enter. At the beginning of the line we had to show ID and then at the end of the line we were given 2 drink tickets for each of us. I got a cosmo and it was disgusting and small (not like you get in the casino) and Champ got non alcoholic beer that he had never had before. I can't remember the name of it, but he liked it. Our tickets were just standard GA so we had to go to the top and find some seats. It was actually a pretty cool space set up like a stadium with seats all around. No food was included here, it was available for purchase and was something like $8 for a hot dog. We knew we wanted to be comfortable settled to watch the Buffalo (Champ's team) and Arizona games and quickly decided we were better off at Flamingo. I wanted to play a bit so I gave my drink ticket to the guys in front of me and told Champster I would meet him at Valet in 45 minutes.

I decided to go play the Buffalo Grand Machine I had won $700 on a few days earlier. At $3 a spin after about $25 I hit the bonus and on my first spin I won the super jackpot of $607.18 plus a bonus wheel spin for a multiplier. The multiplier ended up a x2 and then a wheel spin for a few free games. Machine locked up and I got hand pay of $1223.16. Played for a bit more and then met Champ at valet.

We headed back to Flamingo where we watched some more basketball. Buffalo covered, but lost and Arizona ...... well .......... we will have a great recruiting class coming in and now I have a long year to wait again for the season to start. Guess I will back the Pac for the rest of the tourney. After the Arizona game I just played some slots and VP and had some small wins. Between MM and St. Patty's day the casinos were packed and LOUD. So called it a night about 12:30.

No big plans for Friday. Just basketball and gambling. I'm really dreading having to go back to work on Wednesday......

Slept in and took my time getting ready. Headed down the casino in the Linq around noon where I did the swipe card and get a spin on the slot promotion. No matter what diamond gets $5 free play. Took my $5 free play and added $100 to play the $1 VP progressives. Hit a straight flush. Played for a bit more and left $100 up. Headed over to the Flamingo where I met Champster for a bit of lunch and basketball. The lunch in the ballroom today was sliders and fries. Watched a little bit of basketball and then headed to Cosmo to play some the machines I like there.

Started on Buffalo and won a bonus and then couldn't hit anything so decided to go play the 8/5 bonus 100 play VP machine in the high limit room. I was just playing quarter 5 hands at a time. Losing. Switched over to Triple Double Bonus figuring if I can hit one or two 4 OAKs I can at least get back to even. Hit a royal! I would like to tell you that I hit this royal, stopped gambling right then and put the money in the safe. That isn't what happened though. I played and played and played some more. Played VP for another hour or so and did okay getting a few 4 OAKS, but quit when it went cold. I tried to find the Cleo machine I thought I heard was in the high limit room, but had no luck. So threw $200 in to some glitter kitty slot machine or something like that and hit nothing. Played some Davinci Diamonds where I quit up about $100. Lost on Austin Powers and broke even on Willy Wonka. In all fairness I don't take that much to gamble with, just a few hundred a day, and the $1K I took out of the ATM plus more than half of my buffalo slot win are in my safe so I haven't gone completely on tilt.

It was getting pretty late and my phone was dying ---- it is only charging on my computer now and not holding a charge for long since it fell in water at MSS --- so I decided to head back. I really like Cosmo and even though they didn't pick up any of my charges, I hope I get some decent offers from them instead of 2 week nights. Walked back to Flamingo where I popped in to the basketball event for dinner. Chicken strips and macaroni and cheese with pulled pork. Said goodbye to the people we had shared a table with since they were headed out Saturday morning.

Headed back to the Linq where I played a bit of Zuma and won $100 on a bonus. I then played BP on the $1 progressives where I get 4 aces. Tried to take a picture, but my phone had 2% battery and didn't like that idea. I played for a long time and got 1000 points for the day. Called it a night.

Saturday plans - gambling, seeing some friends, and diamond tickets to Tony and Tina's wedding

    Saturday March 19

Started off the day by going in to the diamond check-in area where I got a cup of coffee from the Keurig and a mini sprinkle cupcake. Wanted to get late check out for Monday at 5pm, but they wouldn't do it. I could either get late check out for 2pm or pay for another night. I took the 2pm option. I then swiped my card for the $5 free play. Headed over to $1 VP where I went through $400 without one of 4 OAK. Ugh. Played a few slot machines and had to go back to the room to replace the bankroll. That didn't take long and should have been foreshadowing for the day.

Headed over to the Flamingo where I watched some basketball and had some lunch. Food today was Italian - baked ziti, strombolis, antipasto plate, etc. After I ate I headed over to the Cosmopolitan where the Buffalo Machine did not do well for me. Played some Davinci Diamonds where I cashed out $50 up. Then played some VP in the high limit room for about an hour. Lost about $100 here. Love those cosmos at the Cosmo though. Yum.

Had to head over to the diamond lounge to meet 3 friends at 4:30pm. Had a couple of more cosmos here and the table shared a plate of wings and potato skins. We had 4 diamond comp tickets to Tony and Tina's wedding so we headed over the show at Bally's at 5:30pm. I had seen this show before, but it has been about 5 years or so and I didn't really remember too much. Show is an interactive big Italian wedding and dinner. Was a fun show and the lady sitting next to me, who wasn't part of the show, just fit right in with her behavior. Her poor husband kept shushing her. Food was okay - ceaser salad brought to the table, buffet of chicken parm and pasta. Wedding cake for dessert.

After the show we headed to Cromwell because I wanted to play their 8/5 BP. Ridiculous how hard it was to earn points on those machines, but was nice to have the option to play decent VP. Friends played for a bit and then they all went their own way. I played for a really long time, earned about 50 points and cashed out $50 up. Decided to walk back to the Linq and get to 500 points and call it a night. No major wins here, but got to 500 points and called it a night. This was a rough gambling day, hoping for some good wins tomorrow.

Trying to decide what to do with my last full day here. I have 13K Identity points at Cosmo, is it worth trying to get to 20K on my last 2 days?

I can't speak to trying to achieve the 20K in the last two days, but I did want to say I've been following since the beginning - thanks for the TR and I hope you pick up some better wins for your last two days!

8/8 bonus poker sounds like a great game, who wants to bankrupt DTG with me? :evillaugh

And my g/f hit a Queen high heart SF too this week for a lot less money! :evillaugh

Great stuff so far! Unfortunately I'm not sure about the 20k points at cosmo either. But you know what they say about "chasing comps". Play where your enjoying yourself! Hope things go well on the final push!

Started off once again in diamond check-in getting a cup of coffee and Sprinkles cupcake. Got my $5 freeplay and headed to $1 VP. Lost about $150 so then tried this nickle triple play called something like hyper bonus. Whenever you are dealt a winning hand you get a random multiplier from 1x to 12x on each of the three lines. I managed to pull 4 3s with a kicker on triple double bonus at 2x. So made some of money back and played there for a bit.

Went over to the Flamingo for the last day of basketball and lunch. The food today was jalapeno poppers, chicken wings, some meat sandwich, and a deli platter. Tomorrow I really need to get a green drink and a salad. After lunch and a little basketball I went back to the Linq where I played some slots. I put $40 in to a $1 big band theory machine and cashed out $500. Played for a bit and then headed over to Ceaser's Palace.

Met some friends in the CP diamond lounge where we hung out for a couple of hours. Had a few Cosmos and more unhealthy food. We all went our separate ways and I played for a bit at CP to get to 500 points for the day. Ugh, this was the beginning of a downward spiral. I couldn't hit a bonus to save my life. Lost a couple of hundred here and then headed over to Cosmo to see about getting those 7K more points. My friend, L, went to see Rod Stewart and she was going to meet me at Cosmo afterwards. I was headed to the buffalo machine I like, but a couple sat down right when I got there so I went to Davinci diamond where once again the bonus round didn't want to appear. I played here the whole time while waiting for L and I kept thinking the bonus would have to hit, big mistake. She showed up and we had a few Cosmos and played a bunch of stuff never having any really amazing hits. It was nice to hang out though and chat. I really have no idea how many points I got and I discovered I had a bunch of identity point play. I used that free play and now I can't tell how many points I have to get to the next level when I check on-line. Guess that will be my goal for next trip. Finally around 1am or so we hoofed it back to the Linq where I wanted to play a bit to get to the 500 points for the day. Lost $50 in the big bang theory and then played some Zuma where I hit sever bonuses and cashed out up a couple of hundred dollars. I played a few other things and called it a night somewhere between 2am and 3am. So even though I had 10 nights here and paced myself really well I still went overboard on my last night.

When I went to bed I was having trouble sleeping and started to have a bit of queasy stomach. Just tried to get to sleep to get through it. Then I was cold so started to get up to turn up the A/C a notch or two, but got a terrible leg cramp right then. I hate those and this one was especially painful. I get them when I don't drink enough water, drink too much, and/or don't eat right. It was so painful that I started thinking how long will it take them to find me if I die here? Dramatic for sure, but i was the middle of the night (well morning really) and I was exhausted and didn't feel well. Anyway, I obviously lived through it, but I feel awful today since I didn't sleep well and I still have some lingering pain in my leg.

My flight leaves at something like 7:45pm and I have late check out at 2pm. I asked twice already if I could get late check-out at 5pm or 6pm and both times I was told no, but I could extend a night (first time was told $30 and second time was told $46) and both times I said no. Now that I had that rough night I want to extend to 6pm so I can nap and take my time. We'll see what rate they tell me today, sort of reminds of one of those slots where you have to choose the best offer at the right time. I have tons of reward credits so will just use those. I don't really want to go anywhere today so will just hang around the Linq.

Ha! 8/8 BP would be awesome! Obviously a typo and I meant to say 8/5.

Hope you hit it big today and go home a winner! Good idea on getting a later check out; a nap before heading out will probably make you feel much better!

I always push too hard on the last day. Also get a cramp or two if I forget to hydrate enough. Doh! Have a safe trip home!

Called down to the guest services and asked about paying for another night so I could have the room until 6 or 6:30ish. She told me they weren't booking any more rooms, but she would connect to me to diamond check in. At diamond check-in they said they would extend me a night for $46. I needed to go down to get the keys reactivated by 2pm. I really didn't want to leave the room, but this got me moving. I decided to call the spa and see if I could get an appointment for a pedicure, they only had 4pm available so I booked an express pedicure hoping that would give my toes enough time to dry before I needed to head to the airport. I then went down and got my keys fixed. Headed over to squeeze where I used reward credits to purchase a green juice. It was really a brown juice since they put carrots in it, but was the start I needed. Played some VP and slots to get about 450 points or so and had no good wins.

Decided to go grab an asian chicken salad and naked juice ($6 for the juice!) to go and paid with reward credits. Took lunch back to my room where I ate and started packing a bit. Headed to the spa a bit before 4pm. The express pedicure is $40, but you get 20% off if you are diamond and I paid here with reward credits too. Had a lovely pedicure and enjoyed the massage chairs after so many days of gambling and watching basketball. Tipped $10 and headed down to the casino where I played VP to get to 500 points for the day and took a last hail Mary of $100 in to a $5 wheel of fortune machine. Didn't hit a thing on either game. Went back to my room where I took a shower and finished packing. Checked out about 6:15pm and asked them to use my reward credits for the $46 balance to which he told me I had no charges on my room, they decided to not charge me the $46. Grabbed a cab and headed to the airport, total was $15 so I gave the driver $20. Lots of traffic getting to the airport, but once I was there it was easy peasy. I used miles and it was less miles to fly first class home on the late flight than it was to fly earlier in coach. Nice comfortable uneventful flights from Vegas to Phoenix and Phoenix to Tucson.

Now that I am home I need to start focusing on some career plans and decisions. I have a pretty good corporate job, but I am in the process of buying an already established on-line business and need to finish up that deal this week. Don't really know what I am allowed to post here, but I will have a fruit basket company (fresh, organic, dried, and monthly options) by the end of the week so PM me if you want the URL. Mother's day and admin professional's day are coming right up! I normally go to Vegas 4 times a year and hopefully I can continue, but will have to see how this risk pays off of purchasing this company.

A couple of quick notes -- It looks to me like the Downtown Grand is giving away some kind of booze for points every Wednesday each month. I received mail from them that shows vodka in April, tequila in May, etc. Just go an e-mail from Cosmo for two free nights with $40 free play. Not great, but better than Sun - Thurs.

I'm sorry i couldn't post more pictures, but dropping my phone in water really wasn't ideal. Thanks for all of the kind words and following along!

    thanks for the TR.

Did you notice anything about the Cosmo bartops printing drink tickets rather than just handing out comped drinks? Ill be there in a month and Im scared I might have to find a new home casino

Sorry. I didn't play at any bartops, but the drink service was fast and easy at every machine I played at each time I went there.

That's the exact opposite experience I get from cosmo. I'm usually lucky to find a waitress. Doh! Nice TR!
