I was at a BJ table at Atlantis last week. I was forced to sit at 3rd base because it was the only open spot in 3 tables. I try to avoid that seat as I feel I always end up down at that postition. Does it really have anything to do with the cards, I know it doesn't. Of course I ended up down. It was a double whammy because a man bought in mid session using all $50 bills. I thought it was common knowledge that's bad mojo.

At tables I always keep my chips in 3 stacks. I have no idea why but it freaks me out to have 2 stacks. If playing slots I keep TITOs in one special spot in my wallet until I cash them.

What are your gambling superstitions or idiosyncrasies?

As silly as this will sound, anytime I hear the song Mr. Jones, by the Counting Crows, while I am on my way to the casino or in it, I always do great. You would be surprised how often it plays on the radio or in Ballys in AC,lol.
And yes, having a drink or two in hand while playing head to head is my favorite!

When I play the video slots (Mystic Unicorn usually), if the first two columns come up with all the same symbols, I start to hit the third column and yell "Auntie", if the third column comes up the same symbols as the first two, I start to hit the fourth and yell "Auntie" even louder, and if the fourth matches the first three, I hold my hand over the fifth column, close my eyes and hope to hear the machine say "OUTSTANDING"

There is an old superstition that if your hand is itchy, you will be coming into some money. When in Vegas, my wife and myself have found that if one of us has an itchy hand we tend to have a winning gambling session. Then again maybe an itchy hand simply means we touched something unsanitary in Vegas.

Where did auntie come from? Never heard that before. What do you yell when it doesn't?

I bring my old jester keychain from Lady Luck-dtgrand, my leprechaun keychain from fitz-The D, and a small Buddha I bought my first trip 30 plus years ago. I carry them everywhere I go in Vegas.

I have superstitious that some casinos I'm cursed against. Like south point. Nothing good can ever come from setting foot into that casino. I once went in to just "play $100". I proceeded to lose like 20 hands of blackjack in a row and around $1500.

Oh. And I also hate it when I see someone buy in with all $50 bills. The little voice in my head tells me to leave the table.

Dice come off the table, leave.

    Play slows down, leave.

Whenever a male comes to the craps table and is being taught by someone else how to play. Or asks a bunch of questions pertaining on how to play. Leave the table.

I hate when someone sits at 3rd base and then starts off by hitting a 16 against a dealer 5 up card, or wants to split 10's...this is why I sit at 3rd base. Yes the cards are going to come out in random order I know this but allot of times in the short run a person making bad decisions at 3rd base can really hose the table. I know mathematically it doesn't matter but I just have this thing about newbie's sitting at 3rd base. I also hate when the mojo at the table is good and some cranky old fart comes to the table and messes it up. Oh and I don't cut the cards ever....I used to cut the deck and over a 1 year period and 4 trips to Vegas, every time I cut the cards I lost. If I'm playing heads up i will call the pit critter over to cut the cards.

If I get blackjack on the first hand of a session, I will generally leave right away. It had so routinely been bad luck for me to get a blackjack straight off that I now take it as a bad sign.

Ok can I take this tread on a rather large tangent? What about superstitions when boarding a plane? Apparently the number one superstition according to a survey was touching the fuselage when boarding.
