I've never actually tried to get a comped drink at a sports book... what is required? I will probably be placing bets at lower end properties/ downtown. Thanks!

It all depends but most will give you a drink coupon after $50 in bets

He's say if you throw the guy putting your bets in a tip he might throw you a few drink coupons.....most downtown casinos if you put $50 in wagers in they will give you a drink coupon

$5.00 has always gotten me 2 or more drink tickets at Caesars & Bellagio; more @ Palace Station & South Point.

If you make a wager, ask for drink tickets.

    Don't be bashful.

The ticket writers know it is part of the game.

Now, if you only make a wager for $11 to win $10 (that is 21 bucks back to you) then you should only expect one ticket.

Put in a small bet on the ponies. Almost all books comp race tickets all day no matter what you bet.

During March Madness (which is very busy time in the sports books), I got 1 drink ticket for every $100 in wagers at the Plaza.

Not sure what they give during an regular/non busy week.

Does it matter what the odds of your bet are? If I bet $100 on Kansas to win the first round which will happen 99% of the time, my expected loss is only $1. Do I still get my drink tickets for doing this?

No - the odds don't matter. Just whatever your bet amounts are (and how much you tip).

I have had some who've hooked me up on a $50 bet with 5 tickets and others who will give me one.

What I like to do is ask the ticketwriter who their favorite game of the day is and place a bet on that game for them. Usually $10-20. So they have some skin in the game. Or I will take one of my parlay's and mirror bet it for the writer at $5-10.

I have received drink tickets at Harrah's ($100 bets) without asking but since I moved to NYNY same bet gets me nothing.

Need to bet $100 for drink coupons at the Mirage sports book, and you have to use them that day. I used one for a cup of coffee last year, and tipped a buck. :rolleyes2:

Are you allowed to give them the ticket? Or do you tell them and bring them the cash if it wins?

He meant, do you come back to tip the ticket writer or do you hand him the ticket so he cashes it himself f he wins.

I think you give the ticket to the writer because you might not come back or if you do, he might be done working or at a different window.

I played maybe 5 $10 tickets at Caesars and the lady was really nice and gave me 2 drink tickets.
seems like $50 is the magic number to get tickets

March madness at Sante Fe was 1 drink ticket per $20 bet. They say use in 24 hours but they never check the stamped time at the bar.
Not uncommon to have someone just leave drink tickets around or offer you one when they leave.

Just ask, worse thing is they say no
