This looks like a fun game. I've never played live but have been practicing with computer generated games. Does anyone here follow the advice given by the "Wizard" a %100? And if so how do you fare?

I don't think I'll play the Trips. From what I've read it's hard to win a payout.

I would always recommend taking the Wizard's advice. My results are too small of a sample size to be significant. Some stupid people will make comments about you raising the max so much. Don't listen to these people. Anyone who doesn't realize the importance of maximizing even the smallest gambling edge is not fit to make gambling judgements.

Any side bet is meant to increase the house's take. Play it if you have fun with it. If not, don't. The main bet can be plenty exciting for most people. Just don't complain when you hit a bunch of fulls house in a row, lol.

I follow the Wizard's strategy completely. I get funny looks and comments when raising 4x with K5o or J10o, but don't care. I have played the trips bet in the past, but have stopped doing that because of the numbers. My thought on following Wizard's strategy is that I should know the optimal way to play a game before I sit down and play it. Otherwise I am just throwing money away.

I follow it mostly. I know the math is correct but I still get a trepidation putting out a max bet with what I consider fairly average hands. I think it has to do with years of real poker. Mentally I know this is a completely different game, but emotionally doing a max bet on something I'd probably fold is just rough.

I follow it probably 95% of the time, and just occasionally will throw a few bucks on the trips bet. Really, really volatile game.

I follow it. I had a dealer tell me he plays lots of poker and never would raise with A2 so I was making a mistake. I didn't want to argue with him on how this is different actual poker.

For trips bet I usually either, always play it or not. Not on or off. I did catch my one quads off though... Doh!

My rule after that is always on when I find the 8/7/4 (3.5%) table or better. I am off if it is worse than that.

I play proper strategy 100% of the time...except on the 1x "call" bet after the river... I will sometimes stay in when the wizard says not to...both on the simulator and in real play.
Of course, I also play the trips bet nearly every hand... yeah, I know it's a 'house' bet, but I enjoy being on it...

Seems to hit about 16% of the time...or 1-in-6 plays. I ran my own math on this bet a while back, using a 38-hand sample-size... It showed a $145 pay-back for every $190 bet ($5 bets).
My experience at real tables is far better than that... more like a $175 payback for every $200 bet. So, I suppose one tactic would be to quit playing trips after hitting quads or better in a given session.

    Anyway, I love this game!
On my last trip, I actually played more UTH than I played blackjack... a first for me.

I try to play what WoO has, but sometimes I just forget since I don't play it that often. And, yeah, I always play the trips+. First time I played it, 5th or 6th hand was quads.
