    My Trip Report

So, Mr. Self Control gets an unplanned 3 day weekend... How should I spend that time?

Yup... How are last minute prices to Vegas?

OOOOOO!!! Nonstop on Frontier (ick) and two nights in a Terrace Studio at Cosmo are how much? Yes, please.

Landing at 10:25. Planning on Uber to the hotel and a super-short stay to tide me over for 2 weeks.

Enjoy! I'll be in Vegas in three weeks. Making a quick run to AC today or tomorrow to pick up about $600 in earned and promo free play. I'm hoping to double that to add to the LV bankroll, eat in the seven stars lounge and bring the winnings back. Good luck to both of us!

Yeah, last minute flights can definitely be had there. Better than $500 each way on SWA... Just try to make sure your butt doesn't get numb in those awful seats!

    Good luck!

Good start. Flight left early and got in 45 minutes early. Uber was quick with a cool driver. Got a strip-facing room in the Eastside tower.

Chilling on the terrace with a strong drink listening to craziness.

Frontier does have the smallest tray tables ever. It's like the sawed old iPads in half.

    Had some good luck. [IMG]
Was betting minimum, but $195 on a 30 cent bet is pretty damn good. ...and the waitress at Aria actually brought me the drink I ordered. Unlike Monte Carlo where she grooved past me with my drink and never came back.

Have my original bankroll locked in the safe. That is a nice feeling. Especially when I have enough to enjoy the evening. No big wins, but no big losses.

Can confirm that Cromwell has a bank of good video poker with full pay Jacks and bonus poker along with a good deuces and 99.29% jokers wild.

    Back home already.

Came home with a tiny bit more than I left with after paying for food, drink, tips, etc. Somewhere in the $10 range. It's nice to have a winning trip and don't have to scramble in 2 weeks.

Walked the length of the strip. It does appear some work is going on at Resorts World, although it's only the parking garage. Have a hunch that was the only thing with approved plans ready to go. Beyond the financing, changing a partially built structure into a different structure involves a lot of design and engineering work. Fontainebleau looks terrible.

Had an odd experience at Encore. The strip entrance is also the entrance area to the Encore Beach Club. I'm a middle aged guy, so as I walked through, I was stopped by security three separate times with a "Can I HELP you?" Had to say I was just going to the exit. Very non-Wynn experience. Encore casino was dead.

Theatre construction at Monte Carlo looks to make most of the strip view rooms very loud. They are in heavy iron work stages and there were noises you could hear on the strip. Can't imagine what a low-floor room on the south wing would be like. The theatre is higher than the first few room floors, so there will be some awesome views of roof.

I'm putting my money on Monte Carlo being rebranded as the BLVD since they already have BLVD plaza outside and lots of stuff inside using that branding.

Flying Frontier wasn't that bad. They have drinks and snacks for sale on board that are about the same price as the Hudson News. One odd thing is that you can leave a tip when buying snacks. The seats are hard, but possibly more comfortable than the old AirTran seats. It is kind of nice to know you'll get the same seat if you show up 2 hours before the flight or 10 minutes before the doors close. I may do more quick trips on Frontier since I can live a couple days out of a small backpack and won't have to pay for bags. It's better than Spirit since if you don't pay to choose a seat, they just assign one. No hybrid mix of assigned seats and open seating. Both flights arrived ahead of schedule.

Nice report! And interesting thought about Monte Carlo's rebranding. It worked for CET and the Linq in a pinch. Haha

Ha! I went to AC last weekend too. Couldn't contain my enthusiasm for Vegas. I netted out +$500.

Unfortunately, however, I'm going to Mohegan this weekend for a guy trip. Ugh, hope I don't lose :( I'll then be cold Turkey until April. Hoping for the best.
