    My Trip Report

My January trip was booked at my usual places, Mandalay Bay for three nights and Wynn for two. Plans included playing in the MB Mandalay Millions slot tourney and the VMB HL slot pull organized by Wanker which would included my first ever visit to Cosmo.

Slots – I had a good run at MB and hit several handpays. I ended up with all my original bankroll and a small profit. Which after you see the pictures you’ll realize should have been a large profit! In other words – I played a lot of my handpays back. This is no surprise to me. I always do. I'm there to play. A small profit is a big win for me. Slots at Wynn were not so nice. I blew most of my Wynn bankroll with only a few good hits. I had the pleasure of meeting VMBer Sindustry in the MB HL slot area. It was very nice to finally meet someone from VMB.

Food - I tried several new places. Tom’s Urban at NYNY was excellent. The “new” Wynn buffet was very good. The Wynn buffet has very unique “buffet” food which for the most part was very good. The desserts were outstanding. I was surprised that the food service stations were a bit sloppy but I suppose with hundreds of people helping themselves it's hard to keep everything pristine. There was a line at all times. I had a line pass so got to go right in. I probably would have passed on the buffet if I had to wait as I hate wasting time in Vegas. I recommend eating there at “off” times if you're impatient like me as the line was quite a bit shorter during non peak times. Overall definitely worth a try.

HL Slot pull – Wanker did an outstanding job of organizing the pull. Lots of people showed up and it was really fun to put VMB names with faces. I hesitated about attending at first because I travel solo and you never know…. I'm glad I got over my initial hesitation and met up with fellow VMBer. I highly recommend adding meet ups to your trips when you can. It's nice to read posts and be able to visualize the person and know they're real. As everyone knows we didn't win anything during the pull but oh well. I shared a cab back to MB with IM ALL IN another VMBer and MB fan.

1st Uber and 1st Cosmo – I was very impressed as I walked around Cosmo. It's so shiny and bright! I expected to see lots of drunk twenty somethings being obnoxious and falling off their high heels but didn't! Perhaps it as too early in the evening [emoji3] I signed up for a players card and played some slots before the HL pull. I liked the slot selection, cocktail service was lightning fast, and the few employees I came in contact with were very nice. I was very pleased to get an email on Sunday with a return offer of $295 in freeplay redeemable by Monday. Never one to let freeplay go to waste all I needed to do was figure out how to get to Cosmo from Wynn on Monday. I hate hate hate cabs in LV and avoid them if at all possible. Walking was out of the question. I'm way to lazy. So I got over my fear of the unknown and tried Uber. What a great experience!! As long as Uber/Lyft is available I'll never take another cab in LV.. Uber was so easy to use, fast, and cheap! I burned through my freeplay at Cosmo and of course some of my own money – brilliant marketing on their part. I got my first “purple envelope” offer from Cosmo a few weeks after I got home. I'm seriously considering staying at Cosmo for a few days during my upcoming June trip. I'm so glad that the HL pull was at Cosmo as I'm really a play where I stay person and may never have experienced Cosmo without it. Thanks again for setting it up Wanker!

Ok, enough words. Let's get to the pictures….

Tourney porn first. The theme was an awards ceremony. I didn't do well in the tourney. I ended up with the consolation $150 in freeplay. . Saturday night was a dinner and the awards.

I tried 5 desserts. Don't judge. I really do watch my sweets between Vegas trips.

Wynn room service steak tacos and cheesecake. My traditional last meal in Vegas.

That's all. I had a great trip. Heading back in April with DH. I let him chose the hotel as he only comes to Vegas once a year. He chose NYNY so NYNY it is. My son and I will go again in June. He wants to see the NHL award at MGM. I'll slot while he does that [emoji106]. Thanks for reading. I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone has.

WOW......some great hits! Hey if you came back with a profit....it's still a win!! I probably shouldn't have looked at the food porn before bed after missing dinner. The room service at home is non-existent and I'm starving now :)

I love the purple envelope arrival..,,,you should definitely take Cosmo up on it!

    Great report and photos!

Glad you enjoyed the Cosmo. We love it there.

Can you explain the slot tournament. I've seen it a lot on this forum. Does everyone start playing slots at the same time with the same amount of money and the winner is the last man standing, or the person with the most money after a certain length of time?

The slot tourneys are run over 3 days. Thursday you sign up for your times for 2 rounds on Friday and Saturday. Friday and Saturday everyone "plays" 2 15 minute rounds. "Plays" means hit the spin button as fast as possible for 15 minutes. It's really quite funny to watch. [emoji3] The machines don't take money. They are set at zero and accumulate points for certain hits. Everyone plays the same type of machine. They are special machines designed for tourneys. The person with the highest accumulated score at the end of 4 rounds wins. (Sometimes your lowest score is dropped and only 3 rounds count).

Now I know where all the wins went after we got back to MBay...(cause it certainly wasn't me).Great hand pays. Good girl! I'm down Delano in 10 days. Elf, do you do Bellagio? Check out the Bellagio $500 buy in July 7th...I just attended their Feb one...very well done. (I didn't win, but when you saw the girl who won the $100,000 cash twirl and spin on the dance floor,,and realize that COULDA BEEN YOU....) I'll private you. Come! Might stay Cosmo one night before I hit Bellagio. Go over for the sign in. Use the fp at Cosmo and gamble. Are you in the President's at MBay in May? I've booked airfare.

I have never stayed a Bellagio. Do you have a host there? If you do please PM their name. I used to be on their tourney invite list but I think I've fallen off it. I was planning on doing Vegas with my son in June but it looks like he can't get the time off. I'd seriously consider the Bellagio tourney instead. I'm also going to try Cosmo for two nights on my June/July trip. I'm hoping they will still do the matching offer thing they offered earlier. Ive never stayed there so don't have a host. None of the MB tourney dates are lining up for me. At this point I think the Oct MM tourney is the only MB tourney I'll make this year.

Yeah I'll pm you his name but you could prob pick any if you go on their site. He'll look at your play on Mlife and say yay or nay to join the $500 tourney but I'm sure YOU'RE ALL IN. I'm not a huge Bellagio player as I don't get the comps like our MBay..but I really really liked the tourney they put on. (also, don't expect a suite, or a facial, or a pedi/mani pre-comped, or even dinner....Haha,,I didn't even know what I'd get comped off till I checked out). But, the tourney feeds you all day. I'm also not going June..up til last year brought about 8 or 9 boys down for EDC (my two sons are 24 and 29, so I get a whack of them needing rooms)..and I don't ask for much during the year at MBay, but when I would bring the kids down in June for EDC my host at MB would put the Dog on for me...so I remain loyal...just straying and having a fling...at Bellagio..and my EX host at MBay, well his wife works at Cosmo,,so I'm allowed to stray there! And it is def my second hotel of choice.

Wow, great wins. Maybe I should try some slots, usually just strictly video poker. Your food pics are making me drool. Thanks for sharing your pics, it sounds like a wonderful trip.
