Have offer for 4 nights at MSS for May, $75 slots, and free meals. 24 meals for 2 people. Just curious, what meals, where (MSS,Cal) in hotel. Buffet,, 777, ? How much each meal? Guessing it is the same that Hawaiians get.

Most likely the Hawaiian coupon book. The coupons are good at the buffets, Cal coffee shop, Paradise cafe and 777 and you will get coupons for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Those are the options most commonly used although they are also able to be applied to restaurants at the Orleans and Sam's town that are listed in the book. Each menu downtown will have items marked that work with the coupon. The range of choices will work for most appetites. If you use them at a buffet I think you have to pay an extra $1 or $2 dollars. There is one coupon for each trip that is a steak special and you don't abide by the specially marked items that night. Also worth noting is that each coupon has a cash value. If you have left over coupons you can go to the Cal snack bar and pick up cookies, candy, etc.

The Orleans and Sam's town don't have specially marked items. At the Orleans coffee shop, they applied a $15 discount for each coupon so it is actually a better deal than staying downtown.

This is a nice version of entry level upfront food comps. We enjoyed these books for years before being upgraded to a silver card which includes all menu items plus drinks.

Actually the lanai coffee shop at the Cal is now closed (and may not be back) so you cannot use your excess food coupons to buy caramel popcorn, cookies, chips, candies and other munchies anymore. Not sure if the fremont lanai coffee shop offers those but I think that may be the only other place you can use your coupons to buy stuff downtown. You can use the coupons at many of the eateries at the Fremont, Cal and MSS but they may not be good at upper end eateries like Tony Romas, etc. Check first to see if they can be used. Unfortunately the coupon dollar value isn't much, probably up to $5 so if you are buying the non standard meals you may have to pay a little more out of your pocket.

My friends came back last week from their stay at the Cal and they confirmed that the lanai restaurant is closed and blocked off, in fact the entrance that faces binions is also closed off and being renovated.

John, you should be able to space out your meals to 5 days but you should check the coupon booklet first. They punch holes in the book which say when your last day is (you have to hold it up to the light to see the date) and they may not honor the coupons if it is past the stamped date (so you can't come back and try to use them at a later date). If the 5th day is your check out day I would think the coupon book should still be okay to use but again check on the punched date on the booklet.

As mwig said, you may be able to use the coupon book at the Orleans, Gold Coast and Sam's town but you have to check which restaurants they will be good for.

sapphire. 35,000 on card. 25,000 from last trip. Only been twice, but 10 days total. Just changed plans from March. now booked MSS 3(comp) April, then Rio for 4(comp) and back to MSS 5 (4
comp). 12 days, 11 comped (pay RF at Rio). Not High Roller. Getting some other offers from Sams but MSS is only one comped for several day. Would like to try other properties, but MSS keeps sending the freebies monthly

Yes, once you get on MSS's radar, you will get monthly offers.
Especially at Sapphire and Emerald levels.

I've played more at Gold Coast, as of late, but going back to MSS on May 21-25, using the same offer.
    I miss my downtown!

I am pissed the Cal coffee shop has closed. That was my quick "go-to" place to grab a bite. The food was decent.

get on the cal web site and send them your complaint. Hopefully with enough complaints they will realize that people like that coffee shop so they will reopen it after they finish remodeling. I'm not sure but someone told me that maybe the Cal raised the lease rent so the people running the shop decided to close it but I don't really know why they closed it down.

I sent in my complaint and I told them that I usually eat there a few times, now that it is closed I will probably go elsewhere to another casino to eat instead. Also told them that I refuse to eat at the noodle house and the market st. café lines are too long and the wait too long so rather eat elsewhere.

What kills some of the Hawaii people is that they used their excess food coupons to buy munchies like caramel popcorn, chips, candies and other stuff, now they don't have that option anymore.

Do you mean the place in the SE corner near the San Francisco bar? It was kind of cafeteria style. Move your tray down the line and order.

On Boyd site it says food book. On flyer just says 24 meals. So I assume food book.

I will file a complaint. That place was hoppin' and they didn't lack for business. I wanted to shoot the Hawaiians and their coupon books, but that's another subject.

OK, I don't know codes and maybe it is a factor of our host what we receive.
Our latest May offer is G65MAAC. The offer itself is only for 3 nights and $25 in FP, but when I email our host it is the full boat on comps.

Ha ha, I know what you're talking about. It was so funny seeing these old people trying to decide what they wanted to buy with their excess food book coupons. Hmmm, with $3.25 they could get a bag of chips, or 2 cookies, or 1 bag of m&m's or.....

April offer is G64MAAC - 3 nights and $25 FP. Using end of April then 4 nights Rio (comp) and back to MSS(May) for 4 night offer. Can't do back to back, so splitting it up with Rio.
