I think this has been covered but I couldn't find it on here. I wanted to use rewards that require hotel stay. If I book an MGM property through a 3rd party site such as priceline will I be able to redeem myvegas rewards? I couldn't find anything on the myvegas site. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks

Should work as long as you're s registered guest at the time that you use the award. They don't check to see how you booked, just that you are presently a guest .

That was not my experience-- this was a year or two ago, but when I tried to use 'hotel stay required' rewards on a third party booking they would not let me. The rep had to check with their manager at the time, so maybe there's some confusion about the policy, but I was denied.

Should work. I used the MB $25 FP last year on a trip booked through corporate travel (business trip). No questions asked @ the MLife desk.

Kind of off-topic but why would you book through a 3rd party in the first place? You could most likely get at least the same or lower price if you booked directly. My understanding is that you don't even get tier credits for the room if it's through a 3rd party. This would only be a good deal if you're booking a flight + hotel package.

It has been my experience that you can redeem rewards when booking through a third party. We've never even had an issue. Kolmesieska is correct that you will not get tier credits for the cost of your hotel, but you will get tier credits for anything you charge to your room.

I am in Canada and book through a travel agent for each of my two stays and my wife and I have both cashed in our three rewards on each stay including free play rewards. MLife just asks where you are registered as a guest when you redeem the rewards,

This was my thought. If you are eligible for 'rewards' from the company, why wouldn't you book directly using your player's number? You would at the very least be eligible for casino rate and probably better. It would be better than any rate you could get on priceline.

Sometimes they don't even check, because they can't. I was staying at bellagio and redeemed a Mandalay Bay buffet. The woman at the MB desk said they can't check bellagio so they just took my word for it.

Not a 3rd party site, but I have redeemed rewards while staying in a prepaid room booked through the conference I was attending.

You are correct. My brain was not working well when I asked this.

We stay at the Signature and book direct with an owner through VRBO and we've never had a problem.
