There are so many things that you can get as a new card holder in a casino. What about the people that have been going to that casino for every trip we take to vegas? I would love to take advantage of some of those promos. Do the casinos know we will be back with or without them

Apparently they do and thus the promos aren't offered to repeat players.

How long does a card stay active? I play only downtown, but if I go to Harrah where I haven't been for three years, I am still in the system. When do I become a new member?

If you have ever signed up, you are in the system. The only signup I got where I signed up before was MGM with a Mandalay group card back in 2008.

You'll never be a new member if you've ever had a Player's Card; you stay in the system.

When you go there, go to the player's club and tell them you got your card on-line recently and ask if there are any immediate perks you can get. It couldn't hurt.

There is one exception to this that happened to us recently. My wife signed up for her players card before we were married 4 years ago. Plays on it once a year at least. This past trip she forgot her card and asked for another one at the table. Gave them her ID and they came back and said she was not in the system and gave her a new card. Her last name and and address are different from when she signed up. So if you have had a last name change and your address is different than when you signed up for your card originally or last update, odds are you could probably sign up for a new players card. We told the pit boss that was probably why she couldnt find her info, but she didnt seem to care. We didnt take advantage of any new card signup deals, but I imagine this is a way around it.

Well, I have multiple cards from the same location. It especially came in handy with the Cosmopolitan loss rebate some time ago. I use my Austrian passport for signing up. So first is the different date in our passport. 5.2. means February 5th. And then the passport is quite confusing, so I have cards where my name is Werner Osterreich.

The new player perk is to get you in the door. If you already have the card and are playing much, the casino will give you comps. If you're not playing much, why would they want you back. They'd rather go after the unknown than invite you back when they know you're not much of a player.

I've gone to casinos after a long hiatus (about 5 years) and they've treated me as a new player and given me the $10 free play or whatever it was at the time.
