I usually play at Tropicana, or Cosmo, but I got some new offers at both MGM and CET that I'd like to take advantage of. But I haven't stayed at these places in years, and can't figure out the rankings of each property based on it's luxury, renovations, newness, nice rooms etc... Therefore I can't figure out which property I should be choosing. Also, take into account being in my late twenties with friends, which property I'd jive best with the clientele. I'm not sure what the best choice is. CET seems to be the least clear of the two. Here's what I got so far from nicest to least nice:

    NOBU
    Cromwell
Linq- Anyone know if the cabana poolside access rooms are good? These look really cool.
    Caesars Palace
    Planet Hollywood
    Harrahs
    Paris
    Flamingo
    Rio
    Bally's

Would you agree with this order?

MGM is another breed obviously, and quite frankly cannot come up with a very good list in my opinion, as most of their properties are already really all very nice, but I assume it would look something like this:
    Bellagio
    Aria
    Mandalay Bay
    MGM
    NYNY
    Mirage
    Montel Carlo
    Luxor

I'm an established player with an avg bet around $200-300 at blackjack and baccarat say 2-4 hours per day. Any specific room types, or properties at these two chains people can recommend, and being as specific as possible would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Not on the CET order....at least for our tastes.... With the new Jubilee rooms, I would put Bally's above Rio / Harrah's & even Paris...

i agree with sybgal on this but yeah its a matter of taste..for me Planet hollywood was not that good(but than again i stayed before than in suites in paris and a really nice room(suite like) in Caesars.
for younger people Planet hollywood maybe nice but if im only looking at the room (and you can go gambling anywhere) than ballys(jubilee room in which i stayed last couple of times) is better than flamingo/harrahs/PH/Linq (i didnt stayed at the linq only at IP and didnt stayed at harrahs either but i know from stories and reviews these rooms are less)
my order would be slightley different:
Caesars(top location and also a bit more pricey),Paris,Ballys,harrahs/flamingo/rio/ph (the last 4 isnt much difference but as roomrates go and if you are with a young group i would say do flamingo->never stayed at room but i have been in some rooms and they were pretty ok)

on the MGM properties i think you are pretty spot on from what i have seen and heard but i think mirage should be higher on that list..

Here is how MGM views their properties by level:

    Aria
    Bellagio
    MGM Grand
    Mandalay Bay
    Mirage
    Monte Carlo
    NYNY
    Luxor
    Excalibur
    Circus Circus

    CET:

    Caesars
    Cromwell
    PH
    Paris
    Linq
    Ballys
    Flamingo
    Harrahs
    Rio

Might not be exactly how people view them but its how they view their properties.

I'm a strictly MGM guy and by your age and player category I see Aria as the best fit. It has a much younger vibe than the Bellagio and suits your playing style (Bankroll) better than the other MGM resorts. Aria rooms are to me best on the strip.. and I've only stayed in the regular king room.

Being in your late 20's and putting both lists together I would go Aria first which puts you still right next to Cosmo if you want to roll back to the stomping grounds, then Planet Hollywood followed by MGM.

The only ones I have not stayed at are Nobu, Cromwell and Linq.

When I bring my boys 24 and 29 with their respective crews I put them at Delano at M Bay because they like the second bathroom and it's a suite. But overall clientele I would't say young. They do have Daylight dayclub. MGM has Wet Republic and caters to your age group. Bellagio is grand, but no one under 50 allowed. (I'm heading there today) I agree with someone above Aria has a younger clientele, but I've personally never stayed in their suites or rooms.

I've definitely liked the Mirage more than NYNY but I think the vibe is younger there.

I don't think by any measurements Linq or Cromwell can be on top of Caesars Palace

MLife always puts Bellagio first and the basic room price also a little higher than Aria.

CET tends to be about preference within tiers.

Tier 1 is Caesars/Cromwell (that includes Nobu and Laurel Collection rooms)

    Tier 2 is PH/Paris

    Tier 3 is Linq/Flamingo/Bally's/Harrah's/Rio

Linq is often preferred amongst lower tier now because it is a recent renovation. But preference in that tier is also about time of year and what one looks for in a property.

As for how CET views their properties that is roughly it. Nobu/Cromwell rates might seem inflated as if they are rated higher but that is partly a question of shorter room supply. Which of PH and Paris is pricier depends very much on particular dates. And all the lower end ones bunch together in price, although Rio is the easiest comp by far. Flamingo tends to be rated much differently in pool season.

Rooms are ok but do need a remodel. Bars are fine and the casino is ok.

Yep this is accurate for CET. My offers for tournaments and such used to include three free nights at all the tier 3 properties. Then when my play increased, Paris and PH were also included. Now that it's increased a bit more, I usually have all properties except Cromwell, which again is more a function of supply and demand. Caesars is still the flagship property of CET.

I'm not an MGM player, but based on what I've read on here, their properties seem to go like this:

    Tier 1: Aria, bellagio

    Tier 2: MB, MGM, Mirage

    Tier 3: MC, NYNY, luxor

    Tier 4: Excalibur, CC

Again, this is just from what I've read on here, not personal experience. Also not sure about the rankings within each tier.

I would pretty much agree with bjpcyclones lists on the first page of this thread...

Paris is far from bad. We've stayed there 6 times most recently last week. The rooms are showing their age but Paris has already begun remodeling them beginning with the suites. The property itself is very nice with great entertainment, dinning and nightlife on site. The location is also excellent.

    Great eating places.

Gordon Ramsay Steak and Mortoranos at Paris are great in my opinion.

I'd take Cromwell 100 times out of 100 over Caesar's Palace.
