Agree that's the correct strat. Had decided I wanted the Royal, which is dumb.

Glad you enjoyed it. Sad to leave.

    Awesome TR, thanks!

FYI, I was at Herringbone early January - it was a massive disappointment. They only have a lounge so you're sitting on low tables and chairs and bending over your food. The steak was cold and the sauce not tasty. We go to the Aria 2-3 times a year and it's pretty rare we leave somewhere thinking: DAMN! This was one of those times.

I agree, Herringbone is a massive fail. I give it less than a year. It's almost like they tried to change a lounge into a restaurant but didn't change a thing. Actually, that's exactly what it is.

Great report. I'll have to make a better effort next month to take more pictures.

    Thanks everyone!

Back in NYC now, and mom joined me for a day or two.

Had Babbo tasting menu tonight with wine (the wines are listed under each course). I figured since everyone loves food porn, why not. The wines were excellent too, and I forgot a pic of the cheese/whipped honey dish which was actually probably my fav.

Will try to do a TR wrap up soon.

I enjoyed your report a lot but it is haunting me. When you said you were going to see puppetry of the Peninsula I looked to see where it was playing and only went as far as the main page. Now the picture of the 2 models on that page are appearing on my Facebook page ads.

I guess Florida looks like a penis...haha Auto correct is funny sometimes. As for the ads, click on things you would rather see! :wink2:

Wow! - Don't regret missing it now. If the lounge seating serves as the main dining area then that's just awkward and weird. I thought that there was more to it than that. - Sorry you had bad experiences...

    - Babbo looks pretty amazing. Thanks for the extra credit food porn! - Enjoy the time with your Mom...

All right, so I felt like I’d do a quick recap of the trip to finish things off.

    Fancy Meals:
    - Carbone us a must for anyone who hasn’t eaten there already (or has for that matter)
    - Gordon Ramsey Steak is one of the best steaks I’ve had in recent memory but was quite pricey for what you get
    - Giada and Kabuto both got cancelled – the former because we’d heard not good things, the latter because we just weren’t feeling it. Kabuto will have to happen next time
    - Javiers still on the list for smaller lunches in the future but probably out for dinner

    Lodging:
    - Corner Suite was very nice, but a very long walk to/from the elevator
    - The Tower Suite lounge and private check-in/check-out was nice and something we used frequently on our trips out of and back to the room

    Gambling:
    - Probably gave a way a tidy little profit at VP because we chose to chase the Royal
    - Not enough Pai-Gow played – will do more of this next time
    - Not enough craps played – will do more of this next time

    Other Activities:
    - We did a fair amount of exploring but hope to do more walking next trip
    - Only visited downtown once, which was a miss – will do more next time
    - The show we saw was funny and worth it if you like dirty humor and can stomach some graphic genital manipulation – once is enough though

All in all, I think we did this trip just about perfectly with some minor tweaks here and there. Thanks for following along! So sad to be back at work 
    Until next time!

    Great report!

Love Babbo -- and sottocenere? My favorite cheese. So flipping good.

It really was amazing. I mean, it was literally a couple of shaves of cheese with the most amazing honey I've ever had. And of course I neglected to get a pic because I just dove in. Oh well...

Thanks for the trip report. I'm going to Aria in a couple weeks for a stay in a Corner Suite.

Was thinking about Herringbone, but now thinking Carbone or Serrano instead. The black rice looks interesting if a little unnerving.
