I may stay downtown on the first part of my next trip

I usually take the shuttle bus from the airport to the strip, which I believe is $7(last I remember). Is there an option for a shuttle to go downtown?

What would an Uber ride cost?

You can download a über app and get a fare quote. I think the shuttles are a couple of more dollars each way.

Yes, most shuttles go downtown for an extra couple bucks ($10 one way).
Uber/Lyft from LAS to downtown will be approximately $25.
There's also the WAX bus which costs $2.

Bell Trans share a ride $38 round trip - can't be beat.

Way cheaper than cab and will most likely be alone in vehicle. I will never take a cab downtown again!

Take the WAX bus to downtown. It's fast and a total no brainer for $2. The one time I cabbed it to downtown it was $40.

Go down to level zero, exit through the doors and look to the right.

It stops outside both terminals It's either going to be off to the right at a small transit center, or it's going to be to the left past the buses that bring you to the rental car center.

Another vote for the WAX. It's cheap and easy. You won't get long hauled! When I took it it was pretty empty too.

I second and third the motion to take the WAX. We took this to downtown and back for the first time in October and wondered why we didn't do this earlier. Please do a little research on this site and also go to RTA's website to check out the route.

We absolutely love the WAX, but to each his/her own. We have ridden it about four round trips (8 one ways) and I would never even consider taking a taxi or shuttle again. The only down side is that some times of day, it runs only once an hour; so one could have a bit of a wait if you get to the Zero Level at just the wrong time. But still, love the WAX!

I have taken my chickenesque wife on the WAX several times both coming and going. Not a problem after the first ride. She was apprehensive but once experienced it was a piece of cake. Google wax Las Vegas schedule to see if it fits your needs. 2$. A good bet.

Where does the wax drop off downtown? Coming from the east coast, usually with connecting flights, I am already tired and cranky and wouldn't be up for much of a walk dragging my luggage.

4th and carson. 1 block from 4Q, D, Fremont. Little further for the rest. We stay at MSS and too far for us old people to drag our luggage there. Will be ending trip at 4Q and will take it back to airport.

Thanks, I just might try it next time I am staying at 4 Queens. But for MSS, not so much.

It drops off by the Walgreens downtown. We did make the trek from there to the Cal with no problem. It was early to mid morning and sunny though. We aren't exactly spring chickens, but we made the walk just fine. Depending on time of day, weather conditions, it is not a bad walk at all. But you need to do what is comfortable for you.

Anyone know if there's RTC transport later at night? My flight comes in close to 11:00 pm on Friday, and I might miss the 11:18 WAX which appears to be the last one for the day. I don't mind a slightly longer trip if the WAX route isn't available.

There is a trick to taking the wax bus.

There is another bus called the CX. If you ask the driver or anyone else they will say it goes downtown which it technically does. the down transit center which about 1/2 a mile from fremont street.

Dont take this bus no matter what the people there tell you and guaranteed, if you ask if it goes downtown, they will say yes. To you and i fremont street and downtown are the same thing. not so.

Wait for the bus that says WAX.
