That is literally insane. Carlsberg was the cheap stuff back in the UK. There were pubs where you could get a pint of it for £1.50 ($2.15 USD). That's barely what you'd have to tip on a $13 drink!

 

Ate there in December and won't be going back.
Had the wings and couldnt finish them as they were dry.
If GR was there I would have yelled at him worst than he yells on his show for service food like this.
The rest of the meal was just average. No where near as good as the BurGR place and his steak place.

 

We had lunch there, food ok but overpriced and service was slow though it was not busy. Won't go back.

 

went there in 2014 of november with my brother, we ate at burgr and loved it so why not give this a try, havent been to his steak house yet

they put us at a small table and brought out room temp water, no problems...I had the bangers and mash which was small portion and nothing to rave about, not sure what my brother had but we split the meat board app, very small and I found out how nasty duck moueese is...

the waiter although informing him how small the table was and that we had no room on it, he proceeded to bring more water without removing the other glasses, plates ect. so it got to the point where we litterally put a few plates and glasses on the floor

the meal was all comped from my 7* food credit but we said for the price versus what you got and not that great either we wont go back and tell everyone that. always hit burgr up though

 

ha ha ha PMSL having read his menu. He is charging $10 for a can of Abbot Ale or Old Speckled Hen. $10 for a can that you can buy anywhere for £1. I know this is a restaurant but even so, it looks at least $5 of piss take has been added to the price.

That tells me enough about this over-hyped and over-priced establishment and thankfully I have yet to set foot in a Ramsay named eaterie in my many trips and at this stage never intend to.

 

To be honest, a lot of Americans think anything British is fancy, because most of our exposure to British culture comes from costume dramas on BBC America. You should see the commercials over here for Stella Artois. They act like it's a highly esteemed beer that you drink in a crystal chalice, instead of what it really is, which is a cheap beer that Brits pound before they get into a bar fight over the Man City-Man U match.

Stella is a cheap beer? Where? I'm in Brussels now, and just left London. I can assure you that Stella isn't the Natty Light that you portray it to be. Better go back to BBC.

Well, Stella is always my first choice if I'm in a rundown London pub and I want something to chug before I glass someone and steal their wallet. So many dumb people posting on this thread.

I've always had a decent lunch there...it is only a PUB.....and for pub food it was ok.....

 

This. Stella is generally treated as a "premium" beer most anywhere you go in the world, even in Europe. For what it's worth, the Stella in Europe is way better than Stella in the Americas, and I've never heard of anyone treating it as a "floozie beer", as one of my roommates affectionately called it. Those were typically Carlsberg, Beck's, Budweiser (yes, even in the UK), Fosters, and Tuborg.
