I read online about Stations Casinos owning quite a few Wildfire casinos as well as some by other names (ie: Barley's). I like Station casinos but I have never been to most of these other casinos. I thought on my next trip out to Las Vegas I would make a 'Station's Other Casino' drive around the valley and check out about 8-10 of these places. www.wildfire.sclv.com Has anyone here visited any of these smaller casinos? Is there any vp worth playing at them?

I've been to Barley's many times, but not in a long time. It used to have a small sports book, a few blackjack tables and a few slots (mostly VP). There is also a cafe, a bar, and a microbrewery. The VP pay tables seemed fine - like they are at the larger Stations. I don't remember anything particularly worth going out of my way for. But I used to live on that side of town and they had a pretty good breakfast.

I've been to one Wildfire but never played there, it's alright. If you're a slot player, avoid Green Valley Ranch (GVR), the Station Casino I live near. GVR is probably the worst casino in Vegas. That is, if you actually like to win something once in a while.

First time I've heard this about GVR. Is this from personal observation or do you know paybacks are lower?

I've played some VP there with average results but I don't play slots. I don't go often because it's not close to us.
