I have to say I got the 2016 ACG as a Christmas gift and was really underwhelmed with the coupons this year. I have bought a copy every year since 2011 and this one is the least compelling. Too many of the good coupons are for "New Members Only". I joined LVA this year for the first time and was really happy with their offerings coupon wise.

I think this will be my last ACG. Anybody else feel the same?

    :peace:

Yep, we're not buying it this year either. It's nowhere near as good as it was in the first few years that we bought it.

Bought one this year and "used it" during my last Super Bowl trip. Disappointed by the match play offers for new members only. Used a few coupons for $10 match plays, but not worth casino hopping for that. Able to win back the cost of the book. Will not be buying another one.

I used to buy ACG as well. I did not buy them either this year. LVA only for me this year. I only miss one coupon from ACG which is madam tusades...other then that one, its not worth the cost.

I also agree I will not be purchasing one this year only the LVA book. LVA has some really nice coupons this year.

Same experience here. Less than ever, especially with respect to dining.

A lot depends on what you play and where you like to play. The 2x points to 500 at 4Q is worth $12.50 cash and $25 in comps so anything else the book offers is icing on the cake if you are a VP player. And, honestly, there is a lot of value in these books for a VP player spending time downtown or with the ability to easily casino hop. I like the LVA book better for several reason but, if you are a coupon player, both books are well worth the cost.

On the other hand, if you like to stay on the strip and eat on the strip, this book is not for you.

Are you able to use both books? I am staying downtown so I see quite a few places to use match play or slot play, but some of them are duplicates.

You can use both books. Most of the places will redeem them at the same time and all of the slot play at once.

I feel the same. The coupons are changing to "New Members Only" for many of the decent ones. I feel next year will only be more of the same. I will probably still buy a book next year because I am a local and can get full use of the book but those who are on vacation for a short time probably won't get much good use out of it anymore. No decent match plays. Very little to no free slot play (must earn points first or be a new member). Just doesn't seem worth it to me anymore but I can still get the value of the book out of it and maybe a few dollars more.

I bought mine earlier this year, and now have an unplanned trip scheduled and still have a lot of coupons. However, I lost my membership card you are supposed to have
    with the coupons.

I printed off the receipt where I bought it, but will that be enough? Gosh, I hate not to be able to use them but can't find that darned card.

Personally I love the fact that they expanded the free buffet options for the Boyd properties. That's a nice added bonus when i'm going to be playing there anyway. Ditto to the Four Queens coupon. I probably won't have to spend any money on food the 3 nights i'm staying downtown.Usually my comps come up a few meals short. I'm happy.

I didn't purchase ACG this year as well. And it was my first time purchasing the LVA book. Looking forward to using it in 10 days!

One question though. People keep referring to LVA as a membership, so I wonder if I need to do anything to cancel? Is it a one time or a recurring charge?

Would LVA booklet be worth it for a single traveler for 4 days on the strip and beyond? I probably wouldn't spend much time near the casinos downtown. I have a car for the four days. And secondly would I get the booklet in time for my travels next Sunday-Thursday. I would have it sent to the hotel.

    Thanks

The publisher is in Vegas, so you'll also save ten bucks. But after you buy it, it will give you the address to pick up at. It's close to the strip and very easy to find.
