Dollar Rental, 4 days vs 5 days vs Weekly ?

I currently have a midsize rental reserved via Dollar, Sat afternoon to Wed 1pm.
Cost is $111 total.

I now want to add ONE day, returning on Thursday am, 430am.

When I change the dates, it comes up as a WEEKLY RATE vs 5 days.
The weekly rate is more than TWICE my $111 !!

How can I add just ONE extra day or will I have to make 2 separate ressies?
Or call them?

 

I didn't walk through the process, but the reason your rate is low is because it starts on a weekend, and weekend rates are cheap. I have a feeling two separate reservations is probably not the way to go, I don't think they can combine them like hotels do.

I'd try calling and see what they say. It could be a temporary aberration in the weekly rate, if you check some other time, it might go down. Try another car type, too.

 

Ha! I was in the same situation myself a couple trips ago. In order to save a nice chunk of cash we ended up making a separate one day reservation beginning the same time as the original one ended. Since I use Dollar Express I walked directly from the drop off lane to the reservation board, found my name and was back on Las Vegas Blvd in my new car just a few minutes later. I really do not want to do 2 ressies, as they will place a CC hold of $350 on BOTH.

 

And from what mescalita said, you'd have to go back to the rental car center and check out/check in.

 

Sorry - must admit I never notice rental car holds on my credit card. Hope somebody can help you out with a better plan.

 

Book it for the week. It will probably cost less than 6 day. You won't use it the complete week but there's no penalty for tuning it in early!
