Is the Westgate now charging parking fees & is it for overnight parking only? In other words, can you gamble there & have your parking validated? Is there a charge for valet? Someone just told me that there is a $30 charge & I had never heard about this.

What did Westgate say when you called them?

Well....I waited on hold for more than an hour and 15 minutes before hanging up, and hoped that I might find an answer here from someone who knew. Thank you ever so much for your help.

Yea that was not helpful answer at all. It would not surprise me if they start charging for parking though especially during big conventions.

I can't find the article/website where I read it, but Westgate got brought up about these parking fees recently. Someone had reported they had installed gates and a kiosk by the sports book to pay the fee. The website (whoever it was) was able to get an update from Westgate or someone who had stayed there recently and found out they have always had those gates so people NOT staying at the hotel and using it for convention center parking would have to pay whenever a big enough convention was in town. They did say the kiosk by the sports book was recently added though, so it's possible they may charge people not staying at the hotel a fee to park down the road.

This story is a year and a half old, but it MAY be relevant.

I was staying downtown but attending the SEMA/AAPEX show in November 2014, and decided to gamble a bit at the then-LVH before going to the show. They had a guard posted at the parking entrance collecting $30... and only validated for hotel guests. (I then tried Riviera, they wanted $20, so I drove to MGM and monorailed it.)

The reason it may be relevant is that I saw that post on Vegas Tripping, which was in response to someone seeing gates installed. The relevancy is that Westgate MAY still be charging only when a large show is at the Convention Center, but with the hysteria surrounding the MGM parking charge announcement, some one (or some group) may have jumped the gun, and put 2 + 2 together.

I don't know. This current scenario could be a move to charge for parking for all, but the $30 struck a chord with me because I experienced it when in the context of going to a trade show.

I was at the Westgate for the NFC/AFC Championship weekend and even though the Kiosks on the parking garage were installed, the gates were up and parking was free. When we spoke with a security guard, they stated that there is a charge for parking by the sportsbook during busy conventions, but otherwise the parking is free - even at the sportsbook entrance.

I think this may be more if an issue when major conventions are next door.

Thank you to everyone for your help. I am going on a last minute trip & Westgate seemed to have the best rates, but I was a little concerned about the parking fees. Hopefully, there are no major conventions next door. Lol

I can understand paying to park during SEMA. We make sure we stay at a hotel close to the monorail for the SEMA Show for this reason also. We go early before the monorail lines get too long.
