    My Trip Report

Flew into Vegas on Friday and met up with my brother at the baggage terminal. [IMG]

This is our 13th consecutive year we've spent superbowl weekend in Vegas. Guys only trip, wives/girlfriends stay home. We Limo'd over to the Venetian and checked into our rooms to unpack. The obligatory room pic to use as the screen saver on my phone.

Made a quick trip down to the casino business center and ran into UFC great Uriah Faber who was raised, and still trains, in my hometown. Talked to him for a few minutes and got a quick pic.

Played some bj for a few hours and then moved over to roulette. Lost a bit and then remembered a friend back home telling me to make sure to play 11. Was down to my last few chips and put a green chip on 11. Sure as shit, 11 came UP. Played a couple more spins and cashed out. Texted my friend to tell him the good news.

We then grabbed a late lunch at Grand Lux. Pocket dump before lunch
    [IMG]

Gambled a few more hours then took a limo over to MGM where we had a date with Angus and the gang.

AC/DC rocked the joint for 2 hours. It was one of the louder concerts I've been to. They opened with 'Shoot to Thrill' & closed with 'For those about to Rock'. In between they played most of their classics. My ears were still ringing the following afternoon. After the show we gambled at MGM for about an hour, cabbed back to the Venetian, grabbed a late night omelete from Grand Lux, and called it a night. . Day 2 to be continued....

Great photos! I believe my ears are still ringing from the last time I saw AC/DC, somewhere around 1987. They do put on a great show. Thanks for sharing!

Nice start to your trip with your roulette hit.

Is that Angus Young in the crazy red suit?! I'm slapping him with a felony fashion citation.

Yes, the guitarist wearing red is Angus Young. He's been wearing the same type of outfit for 35+ years on stage. If my memory is correct, it's a tribute to the kind of outfit he had to wear as a schoolboy. The guy doesn't stop moving the entire show. Although, he takes smaller steps now. I imagine he has to be in his 60s. The thing I was amazed with is that he didn't remove his neck tie until about 90 minutes into the show, at which point he used it on his guitar to make screeching sounds. The guy must lose 5 pounds in sweat each concert.

On a different note, their regular drummer was absent. I guess he got busted for trying to hire a hit man. What a stupid fuck. I think he listened to the song 'dirty deeds, done dirt cheap' a few too many times lol

Yes, I was playing quarters the whole time. Tried the system someone else on the board mentioned, where you put out 3 units on 19-36 and then 1unit on a street bet of 6 numbers. Stayed pretty much even with that system until zero hit and I found out the Venetian doesn't offer en-prison, even in the high limit salon.

No joke, man. Saw AC/DC a few years back on the Black Ice tour, and my ears rang for two days. Easily the loudest show I've ever been to. It rocked.

Day 2: woke up and the first thing I notice is my ears are still ringing from the concert. Went down to the sports book and grabbed some big game betting sheets to review over breakfast. I also cashed in a bet that I placed 7 months ago for a cool $900 profit (Raiders to win more than 5.5 games). Here's the futures for the 2017 champion along with my 4 pick prop bet.

After breakfast we placed some bets and went over to Palazzo to play some paigow. I didn't have any hands of note, but my brother pulled a straight flush for a nice hit

Saturday was pretty much a losing day for me. I just couldn't get anything going at the blackjack tables. Played craps for the first time and enjoyed myself. Here is brother's profit.

We had a Saturday dinner reservation at Delmonicos. We got there early and had a couple martinis at the bar. We paid for those and then went to our table.
more martinis. They didn't have the stoli elit we wanted, so Grey goose & blue cheese olives will do
    [IMG]

    Bone in bacon
    [IMG]

    BBQ shrimp
    [IMG]

    French onion soup
    [IMG]

We also got creamed spinach, creamed corn, and garlic mushrooms. We split the main course, a 45 ounce bone in prime rib. The Tomahawk cut...

Wish I could have given this to my dog.

Host picked up the tab. Spent the rest of the night playing BJ and drinking copious amounts of martinis and gin & tonics. Met two good guys at a blackjack table. We drank heavily together & laughed alot. My brother & I each had an xtra ticket to the big game party and we ended up giving them 2 free tickets to the Venetian Big Game viewing party. They were super appreciative. I decided to head back to the room after spilling a martini on the table. Been a few years since that's happened. On our way back to the Venetian elevator bank, 7 security guys went running by us, followed 30 seconds later by a police officer. Probably a fight, but I'll never know for sure. Thank God I had that obligatory room pic saved as the screen saver on my phone, otherwise I may have never found my room. Thankfully I brought pedialite powder. Taken in the room just before bed time.

Sunday started with a late breakfast at Grand Lux. Played some more black chip BJ and then went to the viewing party.

In 13 years of Vegas superbowl betting, I have yet to place a bet on a team to win the superbowl. Instead I always place 8 to 10 Longshot prop bets each year. Most years I hit one or two. This year I hit 4 which gave me a nice little profit. Here's the only one I took a pic of.

Post game was spent playing BJ at the Palazzo. Ended up even for the night. Saw a guy turn $100 into $17K playing roulette. He got up to around $600 and put a purple out and hit for a cool $17,500. He was drunk as a skunk and at one point lost his balance, grabbed the glass around the wheel, and cracked it. He was still playing when I went to bed. Flew out of town Sunday afternoon. Host said she'd take off the $200 in charges to the room. I noticed today that it was charged to my Visa. I contacted her today and she said she thought it was taken care of & will check on it when she gets to work tomorrow as today is her day off. Overall ended the trip down a little, but came home with more than half my original bankroll. Put in over 18 hours at the tables. Hope you enjoyed the report.
