Hey everyone...just asking to see if any of the monorails or trams on the strip are free? I have read where some are free then some locations you have to pay. I am a little confused.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,

The monorail runs down the East side of the strip from MGM to SLS, with a stop at the convention center, and you must pay to ride it.

MLIFE casinos have free trams between some of their properties. One of them goes direct from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay, and on the return voyage stops at Luxor in between.

The other free tram goes from Monte Carlo into Crystals (the mall at CityCenter) and on to Bellagio.

There is also one between Mirage and TI.

In short, the free ones tend to just get you to adjoining properties with the same owners. The paid one can get you the length of the strip more or less. But it also requires lots of walking. The best reason to ride any of them is to beat the summer heat.

(seems I posted the same time as another)

Scrolling down the page you will find many threads about the trams/monorail.

The main one runs along behind the east side (MGM/Harrahs, etc) It does require payment.

One from TI-Mirage only is free.
Back of Bellagio to back of Monte Carlo, free.
M-Bay to Luxor to Excal, Free

The only problem with any of the monorails is you have to walk a long way to get to them. I use it if I want to get to MGM or SLS.
