    My Trip Report

(Old trip from Labor Day wknd 2015):

I have never done a trip report and was waiting to do one this March for my "Elite 8 Solo" trip but then I thought why wait. I love reading old trip reports and maybe my info or trip will still be useful/entertaining for someone as I love reading all of your trip reports. So here goes. It was an awesome weekend. Got in late from CVG on Friday September 4th but that did not prevent brother and I from enjoying ourselves at the newly revamped Center Bar at Hard Rock. Love the new Center Bar. Throw in a couple hundred in Video Poker and get "loose with the GOOSE (Grey Goose of course)!!!

Alright so the pic of me and bro on the strip is a good long morning walk after first night (still hammered I believe). We love the Hard Rock Casino as it's the perfect distance from the strip to force us to at least get a little exercise. We love walking the strip after a heavy booze night and circling around back to Ellis Island for a little breakfast or Mr. Lucky's at the Hard Rock. So following that walk/breakfast it was time to place the sports bets. I love the Big Ten conference but knew in my heart Wisconsin was NOT READY for Alabama. I placed $1,000 on Bama covering (my lock of the week). After placing bets we made our way to the Nirvana pool to chill, my brother is a little older so he likes his down time. I pretty much like to go full steam the whole time (except 3 a.m.- 7 a.m.). Nirvana pool was nice but bro wanted to go watch some games. At this point I went over to the Rehab side of the pool area to see ******bage DJ Pauly D. I do not like this kid but I think it's b/c I have a secret jealousy for anyone (Kardashians, Hilton's, Snooki) that has no talent but turns that into financial gain/success. America . . . . gotta love it.

Incubus concert at the Joint that night was awesome. Of course I am biased as they are in my top 3 bands of all time (Pearl Jam and Coldplay other 2). After the concert is when things get fun/exciting. I know I have plenty of bankroll (My winning Bama/Texas tix in the safe) so I know it's time to cut loose at the CET properties. I am a sucker for the Pleasure pit (I know I know) then I always work my way through the Crom, finally settling in for Irish Car bombs and shenanigans at O'shea's/Linq. I haven't gotten as good of offer lately from CET but I still love that area of the strip. (note to self: I really need to get my ass down to SLS in March just to see it).

Had a great time Saturday night, probably dropped $600 at the CET properties between video poker, slots, and roulette but it's always fun when you can play "loose" and not sweat your gambling. I knew I was positive no matter what and it's also a positive that my bankroll was so far away in a safe preventing me from going on tilt.

Sunday morning we placed a bet on Marshall vs. Purdue and just sat in the SideBet Draft Bar. My bet was a small one ($150 on the over). This is where Vegas gets fun for me. I decided to do my traditional "drink thru the pain" and ordered a short Blue Moon while I played video poker. We sat there the whole game and I was losing my Purdue bet and down about $100 on Video poker. My bro had $400 on the over and if I remember right the over was around 65. Long story short, we were getting ready to roll out of the sportsbook when Marshall gets a pick 6 with 30 seconds left to pop the over!!! We explode with excitement. Could've been the multiple draft beers and Bailey's coffees but my shirt is off running around the book raising hell (they were cool about it). After high fives in the book a gentleman calmly walks over and asks if I would like a shot of Patro'n. I of course say sure then he shows me his tickets. I included the photo but don't know if you can read them. One bet is $7,300 on Marshall to pay $14,252.38, the other is Marshall 2nd half -4 $5,000 to pay $11,000. On that pick 6 he made $25,252.38. Unreal! He bought the bottle of Patro'n. We sat and boozed it up at the Sportsbook Sunday Pre-Nelly. Cool software guy from Bay area of Cali. I was approaching blackout status so I knew pizza Forte' was a must. NOT GOOD! It soaked up some of the booze but wasn't that great. Nelly at Rehab was entertaining and I want to take advantage of my age for as long as I can (I'm nearing 38). I'm thinking I have until about 45 then I have hit creeper status at a place like Rehab :)

All in all great trip!! Can't wait for March trip. If the exact trip happened again I would be ECSTATIC!! Alright I gotta run but long story short. I ended up 3k for the trip and I love Hard Rock! Nelly concert at Sunday Rehab was fun too. Peace out. My host is amazing and I'm a low roller for the most part (typically 5 grand is my bankroll for a 3 night hitter). Next Trip Report will be much better.

Hope this makes sense and I will try to do a live report in March, gotta get back to teaching our future leaders. WE ARE ALL DOOMED!

Sounds like you had a good time. How did you like the incubus show? I saw them at hard rock about 3 years ago...... by far the best concert I had ever gone to. I actually went out to vegas the weekend after you. I was pissed when I saw that the incubus concert was labor day weekend.... I definitely would have gone to see them again if they were playing the following weekend

Great concert, of course I am biased as they are in my top 3 fave bands (Pear Jam, Coldplay, Incubus). Brandon Boyd is awesome. It definitely pays to check Hard Rock's calendar as they sometimes have some interesting late additions to their concert lineups. Unfortunately I will not be seeing Slayer March 26th. Not into death metal ;) lol

I have enjoyed seeing some bands in Vegas over the years. I want to see a show at Brooklyn Bowl (Gary Clark Jr. in March would be great!).

    Thanks for the TR

Great trip report!!! I was there September 11th, exactly a week after you arrived. Sounds like you guys had a blast. And a $5000 dollar bankroll for 3 days is not really a low roller in my opinion. Great job!!!

Well compared to some of the wild men on this site my bankroll is modest! It's all good! The funny thing for me is I always get up on my trip at some point, but stopping is the key. GOTTA HAVE DISCIPLINE!!! That's where I struggle. This is also why sometimes I curse if I hit something big early, as I know I will slowly bleed it out over the coming days. I let the booze start whispering in my ear to win more . . . GOD I LOVE VEGAS. SHE CHEWS ME UP AND SPITS ME OUT, BUT I KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE!! Cheers to you casinokid:beer:

Another Ohio guy here. I am going to vegas around the same time as you, but staying downtown. I will only be solo for the 1st 1.5 days, then the GF is joining me. Glad your sports bets paid off. I took the buckeyes to cover the spread against illinois in the fall. Luckily it paid off. And I placed a bet for OSU to win the national championship. you win some and you lose some.
