I wanted to start a side thread on the Vegas Bonus Slot Video mafia and find out who is addicted to these videos. I like watching some particularly the high limit ones I would never get to play, and the really volatile slots when a big hit happens, Wicked Winnings 2 is one of my favorites and I have never experienced the elusive 3 rows of stacked devil woman respin or a larger Raven hit.

A couple of things I wanted to rant about:

    1) Do you think people who post slot bonus videos are publishing more non significant content on their channel byposting non winning bonuses or low dollar wins ? Do you think its fair to call them 'Big Hit' or Big Win for wins if they are under $300 (which is my arbitrary number for a big win on .01 slots)

Personally I hate clicking on a 'big win' video and it turns out to be a measly $150 bucks.

    2) Do you watch losing bonus slot videos on youtube or skip past them?

I hate these type of videos myself , I can watch my own losing video rounds at the casino.

    3) What do you think of people trying to build a product brand off slot videos and is it fair for them to make money or hype particular slot machine games or brands on Youtube, or should they disclose to subscribers if they are getting paid?

While I respect people getting paid for their time and effort, I hate all this people trying to turn themselves into celebrities from blogging. My wife is a big cosmetics and makeup fan and I think some of the people doing makeup videos are product pushing wh@res.

    Hey Diana,
Thanks for the response. I love your channel, especially the Quick Hit videos. I had to move your response to this thread, since I wanted to comment some more. Please don't PO SDGuy, we don't want him going on a Malibu and Sprite binge. 80% of my post was tongue and cheek. I only commented cause I don't like the way his channel is moving. He used to post a lot of big hits, now his channel is changing directions. His drunken rants were most of what was funny, so I get pretty bored with double or nothing videos for $100, but its his channel to do what he wants. I like Brent's as well especially listening to him talk to his mom when he gets a major hit at Horseshoe Cincy. Agree Rex is a good guy, and I don't blame him for not wanting to autograph stuff.

So in summary, Your channel good! Less SDGUY talking and more drunk big win videos. CasinomanNJ videos are awesome. Rex seems pretty cool. More behind the scenes G2G videos. Funkhouser out...

As to video's that say "Big Win" and it is only $150... maybe that is big for them. I don't know, and who cares? Sure, it is annoying when you think you are going to see thousands of dollar$ and hand pays, but that is the nature of the internet.

If people want to post videos of walking by a slot machine, let them.

People can post what they damn well want. And, if they are making money because other people watch them. Good for them. If anyone does not want to watch them, move on the millions and millions of other videos online.

Over 13 million videos are posting on youtube a month. Guessing there is a bit of trash out there.

Thanks for the comment. I guess I get so anal rententive about it, because I am trying to do a filtered search. Yes I am getting content for free, but it irritates me for the same reason I go search for a repair your air conditioner video on Youtube
and its more an advertisement then a repair. I guess I can put it more succinctly by saying it devalues YouTube when the tags are bullshit. But your right, if I don't like the content I quickly filter that user off my search list.

Yes, some of the stuff posted is annoying. (I may have been harsh in my earlier post).

Those postings that are really ads, or click bait ads really drive me nuts.

I was looking for some information on a product and the video was nothing more than a few clickable pictures to buy it on Amazon or some other site, with the OP getting a few cents for each click through. That is happening more and more.

My wife loves those videos, I could care less, although I'll watch some that she shows me out of curiosity. She uses it to find games she thinks look "fun" and what a new game looks like. She'll go to vegas each trip with a list of games she wants to play.

As for the question on "big" win, its hard to be too critical when some of these games call anything over ten bucks as a "big" win, and a "colossal" win might be $25.....I'm exaggerating, but sadly not by much. But I agree its annoying, when I see something like "mega win" I'm expecting handpay type numbers, not just a decent bonus. But ultimately these guys are trying to make some coin, and unlike most businesses the product they're selling isn't really something they create (unless they're just going to show "live play" videos which are excruciating to watch). So if they spend a few hours and a few hundred at a casino and they best they got was a $100 win, I guess that's what they have to post to their youtube and hope for the hits.

I'm a long time youtube slot watcher, my faves are sdguy, Diana's vids and VegasLowRoller. I also have my own channel to which I upload videos after a trip to Vegas or the local (although not to the volume that they do for sure) I'm very sporadic.

    1) Personally it makes no difference to me. I have a few videos on my own channel in which I'm betting min and hit something like $160 or so - and I call ilt a big win. It's a big win for me and actually a pretty good return on my initial bet. So yeah, one could call it a big win. I have gotten several nasty comments from people who don't think the same but that's all up to personal opinion. Other low rollers like me might feel the same - the others that don't, well then move along.

    2) Yes I watch all of them and I actually like the losing ones because that is REALISTIC. i used to only watch the winning ones then go to the casino thinking I'd get similar results. NOPE. I like to see real play on the machines, because more often than not - that is the true outcome. I actually hate true big win videos because often those people are playing some outrageously high bet amount that I will never be able to afford on my bankroll. So that's not realistic to me, nor is it fun to watch others hit jackpots that I could only dream of. I think that's why I love Sdguy's videos so much. He shows the good, the bad and the ugly.

    3) Those making a living off of the vids or expanding their image etc...those are smart people. I wish I could do that. They have a fan base and why not? I have two teenagers who don't even watch TV anymore. YouTube is where it's at. There are hundreds of video bloggers out there making a true living off of their videos. These people are like celebrities to the YouTube generation! I've been to VidCon in California and it was like the Academy Awards of the younger generation. It was insane.

My question to you is - why do you ask? What are your feelings about it? If people like Sdguy and VegasLowRoller are out there being themselves, having fun doing what they like to do, making their fans happy and making money from it....why should that bug anyone else? If it does, simply don't watch.

EDIT: I personally don't upload videos to try and make money, I just enjoy being a small part of the community and I love going back to watch some of our videos. It's just a fun hobby.

I love watching slot jackpot videos, but I usually skip all the penny slot ones as soon as they are identified. I want to see massive slot wins, like the progressive at Bellagio that netted the Marine over $2.8 million. Or the guy in the high limit room who won $1.75 million playing $5000 a spin. Those are epic videos.

$300 is a big win especially for a penny machine. Hell slot manufacturer are putting big win on 10x hits on their machine now.

Do you play many slots funkhouser?

I get many people who cry over my swearing at the machines but I don't care if they don't like the language mute the audio

I enjoy watching the videos. Lots of the games I play now I play because I saw them on someones video first. I'm not willing to take the time to video but appreciate the people who do. If they can make money doing it - good for them.

    Hi Funk

I started recording my slot bonuses and some live play so I can figure what I hit to generate the win. Of all my videos posted to YouTube only 1 is tagged BIG WIN. Each person self defines a Big Win different. It would be nice if there were a definition for Big Win, 10x, 100x, 500x or 1000x. I try to put the amount bet, how many spins and if it generated a hand pay in my titles.

It takes a lot of time to maintain a channel, including, uploading videos and posting comments. Between work and my gambling addiction escape, I have no less than 100 video that need to be posted. Just need to find the time. The money generated from the videos is not worth the time it takes. I post the videos for pure enjoyment. I have meet many people on this board and YouTube that I consider friends.

It does get on my nerves a little when videos are titled to generate views, but I just move on to the next.

There is nothing worse than when people feel they must leave a negative comment like “this is fake” or “you must be broke.”

If anyone thinks they will become rich from a YouTube slot channel they are mistaken!
You would appeal to a much larger audience if you were to post videos of the general shenanigans that occur in Vegas.

Dvandentop, I am a total slot / video poker degenerate. The casinos I play are major no recording or you will be banned type places.
I think the drunk swearing is hilarious along with the drunk girls coming out the club videos. But I have a strick rule against watching cucumber videos on twitter or periscope. :)

BTW I like Vegas Low Roller, I just wish he would shut up more. I have to mute the volume for half his videos where he goes "Cmonnnn Baby"

So why do I get irritated?
I guess I am one of the old guys who came up thru the world of internet going public in 1994 and seen the commercialization of it.
I always thought of YouTube like wikipedia, a community experience providing content and being free. Now its starting to get like television and cable, bullshit reality shows & videos, wanna be celebrities with no real talent in public speaking, acting, or presentation, and bullshit content videos to push advertising (think infomercial). I think this garbage clogs up the net and de-values YouTube hence my despise for shameless whores who post garbage content to get advertising revenue. Thats pretty much why it gets under my skin. I feel equally about these goofballs posting religous and political videos as well.

Regarding number 1, the unofficial guideline among some slot channels and their viewers are that regardless of bet size any win that is 100x the bet size is considered a big win. However we know that when you have viewers in the thousands that not all are going to agree and will have different opinions on what a big win is from their point of view. I've had some viewers complain that a $1000 win is not a big win if the bet size is a large one. :)

Number 2: I do a few double or nothing bonuses now and then because some of my subs enjoy them. Lately some viewers have complained we only show the winning side of the slots when most of us know that at the end of the year most slot players have lost a lot more then they have won. So for example with the Walking Dead slot bonus I uploaded yesterday I showed a big win that my friend Boots got when I was playing next to her at Cosmopolitan and then I followed it with the bonus I got while playing next to her which just so happened to be my worst bonus ever on The Walking Dead slot. For viewers who haven't played a slot yet, showing a good win with a average or bad win can show them the range and be helpful. Recently I played the new four screen I Love Jennie Slot Machine at Cosmo. Tried it twice and it was sad, but I'll likely share it because it's a new slot and there's always interest in new slots.

Number 3, I don't know of any slot channel that has gotten paid by a slot company to feature their slots and I know a lot of the people behind the channels that currently have the most subs. If someday that were to happen I agree that it should be stated in the video that this was sponsored and paid for. When some of us go to the slot manufacturer's studios or they let us record during G2e we say what we think about the new slot we are trying. Of course sometimes we are really excited about them before they are released and after when we play them with real money not so much, LOL! No company has every asked anyone as far as I know or inferred they would only give us access if we praise their slots. I do know one channel that has been on youtube for a long time where the person favors one slot company over all others but other then running a forum for that company that only has a few active members he's not getting anything from his personal love for their slots. BTW, I also feel that if someone is writing about a show, restaurant, casino, or event if they got paid to write about it they should say so upfront. However if they just got it free as the usual comp from their gambling activity that doesn't count.

My personal peeves are gambling channels that use the youtube support this channel button. Personally I also don't believe in promoting any online gambling sites or junkets, but that's me.

I agree Casinomanj's videos are awesome and that's the reason he's the number one slot channel on youtube. Rex is a cool and we get along well, it's always a pleasure to play slots with him. I have tons of videos of Rex and I playing during our G2e trip where we pooled our money together but unfortunately the majority will never be uploaded because we really had sour luck that trip. Also during that trip Rex and I were playing Walking Dead, he got a bonus that I was recording and the cocktail server came by and told me to stop recording. Turn out that was his best win of the trip and I missed it. :( Brent is a lot of fun to play slots with and I also like his vids where he is talking to his Mom.

I'm glad you enjoy my videos. My luck at Cosmopolitan last week wasn't very good but it was me, I was surrounded by handpays on their penny slots including one nice lady who hit 8k on the penny Quick Hit.

I'm really looking forward to my next trip at Palazzo because I know the company I will be with on that trip is going to be so much fun, so if I continue to lose, I won't mind so much. ;)

I always gauge win size by the bet amount.
A $500 win at $25 a spin is nothing special. It's huge if you're betting a buck or less.

I totally get what you are saying. On the other hand, youtube and all the BS you mention is only getting bigger and won't be going away any time soon. It's the new cable for viewers younger than you and I. As long as the stupid videos are being watched, they will continue to be uploaded. You just have to click a button if you don't like what you see.
As for me I'd probably squeal like a little girl and stand in line if I had to to take a picture with Diana, Sdguy or Brent if I ever happen to see them in a casino. Lol I feel like I know them so well, it's crazy! I wouldn't be rude like that one person tho Diana so don't worry... haha

I'm always happy to meet other VMB'ers in Vegas and also people who watch the youtube vids so I hope we do see other in Vegas someday. So far everyone I've met has been super nice (poor Rex, lol) and I've made some wonderful friendships over the years from meeting up with people from this message board and a few others. :)
