    My Trip Report

First a few things. I used to post here a year or so ago, and had planned a trip to Vegas. I lost my job of 15 years and the next 6 months were rough. I was able to regain employment in the fall and avoided being one of those beggers on Fremont street. So here goes my latest journey to Vegas.
Tue Jan 26 - Left Orlando on Southwest at 730 AM, arrived in Vegas at 940 AM. Took cab to Mainstreet Station, 45 dollar later I arrive. Was going to take shuttle but unbelievably
I was in a hurry. Check in early is never a problem here. into my room 411. Nice view of the AC units, plaza, and mountains. Downstairs to 777 to eat. Sliders and garlic fries were
delicious, on to the Boars Head bar. Greeted by a great bartender Olaf. Started drinking red ale and playing ddb .25 vp. Now I have been playing vp for years and years and have
never hit a royal. Several hours later I look down and see KQJ of clubs. Push the button and what the hell, it finally happened !! A real royal flush. I was in shock, being by myself I
Took a picture with my cell and sent it to my wife, and friends. The rest of the day was break even and I hit the bed at 9.

Wed Jan 27 - Got up early and headed for the Four Queens. Played some vp, waiting on the tickets for tonight shop to open. At 10 bought a ticket for Jersey Boys. Cabbed it over
to Paris to check out the casino. Beautiful place, picked up my ticket for the show and got a players card. Played bj and dropped a quick 200. Decided to walk over to the High Roller. What a view, could see probably 50-75 miles, not to mention the strip and downtown. Walked back toward Paris and stopped at The Flamingo. Never been there before, I
was impressed. Place was rockin at 3pm. Got a seat at Bugsy Bar and played vp until the shoe at Paris. No luck dropped 200. The Jersey Boys was a great show. I am 53, but I loved this music. The performers were amazing. Only regret was the crowd was probably 70% full. Played some craps after the show, I had a great roll made 400, hit the fire bet but unfortunely didn't bet it. Cabbed it back to Mainsteet, drank heavily at 777 and crashed by midnight.

Thu Jan 28 - Woke up early at 7 and decided to have the buffet. Not bad for the price, but just the basics.
Over to the slot floor to play some vp. 30 Minutes in I have 4 to the royal in hearts. Next push 1480 $. Wow, my first tax form. 2 royals in 3 days, unreal.
Go over to Wheel of Fortune slots and play for 2 hours. 333 k progressive, didn't hit it. Broke even and went over to the Cal. Sat at the San Francisco Bar and played vp and keno.
I have been a sucker for keno since I hit for 1500$ years ago at the Orleans. No luck here though and on to Freemont Street. Played at 4 Queens and The D for the afternoon
lost a few hundred and settled in at the whiskey licker bar at Binions to watch one of favorite bands Yellowbrick Road. A great classic rock cover band. I ordered a double jack on the rocks, and got a plastic cup with probably 12 oz of whiskey. Next few hours were great, 2 more of those drinks and great rock and roll. Now it's time to walk back to the Mainstreet. Somehow I make it to 777 and eat some ribs. Its hard to sleep when the room is spinning.:drunk:

Fri Jan 29- Morning is brutal. Sooo hungover, just want to go home. Around noon get up head downstairs, eat a little, head over to the blackjack table. Play for 4 or 5 hrs, lose 400
move over to dice, choppy table win 100, and head back to Boars Head Bar. Jose is bartending, a living legend, play vp until 11. Highlights include 4 Aces with kicker, and 7 four of a kinds . All my 4 of a kind cards were 2$ except 1 3$. Time for bed, need to be up by 6. Can't sleep worth crap, harder I try less I sleep.

Sat Jan 30 - So up at 6 with no sleep. Cab to airport, flight leaves at 930 am. Home in Orlando at 5. Amazing how easy it was to nod off on the plane.

    Brought 2000
    Left With 2900

With 2 royals and 4 Aces w kicker I should have done better, but you know how it goes, cabs , tips, drunken bets. Oh well I still won !

I was thinking the same thing. Even with the tunnel, it should have been closer to ~$30 w/o tip. Unless the freeway was stop and go the entire way?

    Congrats on the two royals!

Yeah I got tunneled. I made the mistake of not giving the driver direct instructions. Too busy texting. Traffic was also backed up with an accident. Usually I take a shuttle, but didn't
    want to wait this time.

Nice win!!! That $900 probably paid for your entire trip; way to go!

I also dig Yellow Brick Road. I make a point of seeing them every time I'm in Vegas.

Sounds like a great trip; glad you had a fun time.
