I can get comped room at either The Linq or a Go room at Flamingo for Super Bowl weekend. Which one should I choose?

Definitely a toss up with the GO room available - I like the GO room because of the TV in the bathroom mirror. I would prefer the Linq as a whole with better bars. Toss up on which place you like to hang out at more. If all you can get is the Deluxe room at Linq vs the Luxury with more space - i would say GO is probably the better room but you have to factor in the cruddy elevators at Flamingo.

IMHO, the Flamingo is a dump. Between the 2, I'd go with the Linq.

I agree 100 % about Flamingo being a dump. Doesn't help I had the worst time getting checked in. Linq rooms on the small side, but newly remodeled.

Having stayed at both on my last 2 trips, I'd agree. The GO rooms at Flamingo are nice but that's about it. When we were there, elevators didn't work well and half were out of service at it took a good 15 minutes to get down or up to the rooms. I'd go with the Linq.

This thread is giving me pause. My wife and I always tack another property on to our standard stay at Palazzo, (we want to eventually stay at all properties), and I'm now concerned about Flamingo (*which we booked for our upcoming stay). We stayed at LINQ a few trips ago, and agree with the other posters that it is absolutely fine. How bad is FLamingo really (we're in a Go room). I'm not a huge fan of the casino (I think its all the pink neon), but we'll likely play mainly at V/P and then LINQ/Paris/Cromwell for TR points to keep our CET offers coming, but we do often hit up the Flamingo brunch buffet and Margaritaville casino (although its extremely small, I like the little craps table there).... are the rooms/elevators really that bad? When I hear "dump" I get visions of the Imperial Palace. We aren't talking that bad, right?

We aren't talking that bad, I was there in Dec it was clean and comfortable, btw I was in a fab room...........it is no Palazzo, but what do these people expect? Lets be realistic, it is one of the cheapest CET hotels, you aren't going to get a Caesars Palace room for that price! There was the odd elevator out of service in the five days I was there (not weekend, I always used the elevator bank near the check in desk), but I never saw the horror stories I always hear about..............it is a great location for your needs, but I guess you have to decide for yourself how fancy a room you need. Just my 2 cents............

Thanks, we barely use our room except for sleeping and the occasional morning/afternoon of recovery after a lot of drinking - and that normally doesn't set in until day 3-4. We'll go full speed ahead to Flamingo, kind of looking forward to staying at a long-time Vegas icon. And I've come to the conclusion elevator issues tend to be isolated incidents at all properties. Everytime we stay at Palazzo there is normally an elevator shut down most nights. Last trip I discovered one possible reason. The only time I've ridden in an elevator completely covered in vomit....had to get out immediately after one floor after realizing what was going on.

I've stayed anywhere from the Venetian/Palazzo to the old Imperial Palace and Westward Ho. The Flamingo is fine, I've been there many times. Clean rooms, comfortable beds (we don't hang out in the room). Pool is good too. We also had a choice of a Luxury room at the Linq or a Fab room at the Flamingo. We are staying next month at the Linq, not because we don't like the Flamingo, but because the Linq would be new to us.

We like the Flamingo- granted our sw got us a GO room. Elevators really weren't a problem, and the location is great. Unless and until I get a free 4/5 nights at one of the "upscale" properties, will likely continue staying at the Flamingo.

The elevators are being redone this year (per a NYE party held there that the hotel chief spoke at - may have read it on here). However one of my friends was there just a couple of months ago & had no elevator issues either.

One thing to remember - especially during the morning hours - hit the up & down button both. Especially if you are on a floor in the middle area. If you wait for one to come 'down', it may be full. We learned that trick in a BIG hurry during college dorm room move-in days! What goes up, has to come back down. If you take the 'up' elevator you will be coming back down within a couple of minutes.
