Things I hated TR

I'll do a "full" TR soon, but these were some things that I just can't stand.

1) Time Share Jackasses: dammit I'm tired of hearing "HEY FOLKS, COME GET A FREE SPIN!" Just leave me alone. Anyone know of a tshirt site that sells anti-timeshare salespeople T's?

2) guys who rub against me while they're trying to reach over the roulette table.

3)People who are in a long ass line and still feel the need to ask 600 questions to the one person who can help while everyone else has to wait. We were trying to get our bags from the bellman at the Fitz so we could head to the airport and these 2 old ladies proceeded to grill this guy about the shopping shuttle that leaves from the Golden Nugget.

4) People who stop right in the middle of a walkway. Constantly you're walking along then all of a sudden you get a group of people just stop in between tables, outside along freemont, anywhere they feel like. common courtesy is dead.

5) that guy who was playing blackjack at the plaza and acting like a total dick. He was slamming his cards down even when the jerkoff won. then the dealer hit a b/j so he didn't even bother turning his cards over. She then asked him to push his cards fwd because she couldn't reach and he said "no, that's your job, you get 'em". What a loser.

6) That lady we saw hit a car and take off while we were on our cab ride from the airport to the hotel. She backs right into a car then takes off. My g/f told her we had her license plate and we were calling the cops.

7) Any driver in the entire city. Holy crap. I guess it's the combination of tourists and construction but I've never been more scared to be on the road anywhere in the country. the news is basically one long traffic report complete with multiple fatalities every single day. I'll never rent a car out there, I'll just gamble in the bus and cabs and occasional limo.

8)Presidential Limo. I booked online to save the 10% then when i called a few days after they didn't have my reservation. So I asked to book with her and she said I'd have to give up the 10% savings. I had to rebook online, call her back in 2-3 hrs to verify then if it still didn't work I could book through her. Seemed like a lot of work over $5. I just called Bell Trans instead and they were awesome.

9) coming home....damn I hate leaving.

10) SWA....It looked like a greyhound station in the SWA line. Atleast 90 mins ahead of time people start lining up behind their group letters and it looks like a homeless shelter fcs. Then we had to switch gates and they all literally ran to the next gate. There are approximately 7 decent seats on a flight and 2 are in the cockpit so why the asinine behavior I'm not sure. I also felt like I had way less arm room than I did on USAIRways.

Okay that's it for my whining. I'll do a regular TR later so I can list all the millions of things I love about the greatest city on Earth.

Good ones. I agree with almost all of them.
BTW, you become a timeshare salesmen after you succeed at being a pornslapper.

 

I think I've played blackjack with the moron in #5. It was at Ho-Chunk in Wisconsin. Double deck, hand-held, and one guy dropped a card but absolutely refused to pick it up. Told the dealer it was his/her (I don't remember at this point) job to get it. Clearly the dealer couldn't leave the spot behind the table to get this guy's card, which was on the floor by his feet. After some confusion, the guy playing next to him who's arm was in a cast leans over and gets it. I wanted to lean across the table and smack the living shiat out of him. What a jackass! Just goes to show, they're everywhere, sadly.

I hope your "love" list is longer than your "hate" list!!!

 

This is my pet peeve. Nothing worse than a snails pace walk through a casino only to stop suddenly because the bluehairs can't figure out where the keno lounge is at. Move it to the side ladies!!!

 

I also hate when people stop abruptly in front of me, but in my efforts to avoid doing the same thing, I usually end up pissing off my husband--as I'm "nudging" to the side, he gets mad I'm "pushing him"...So I can't win that one

 

Oh boy, this is one that really gets me:

I usually drive my own car to Vegas, and part of why I didn't drive around to all of the places I wanted to go this last time was the ABSOLUTE INSANITY I observed absolutely EVERYWHERE on the roads. I truly didn't think I could drive a half a block without getting smashed into by one of the cab drivers. And, nobody else seemed to have an ounce of common sense in the way they drove, either. Dang it, these people were absolutely FLOORING IT away from every green light, FLOORING IT through every yellow light, and just flying around with absolute disregard to anyone else on the road.

WHY ARE ALL OF THESE PEOPLE IN SUCH A GOSH-DARN HURRY?!?!???

I really was just terrified to drive my car in the city, and that included streets well away from the Strip area. It was the veritable driving equivalent of walking through a firing range. SHEER INSANITY!!

 

It's become an epidemic. I think it's is one of the worst parts of living here. You can't escape 'em. When did it become appropriate to stop in main walkways? And at the bottom of escalators? By all means stop, chat, figure out which way to go, look for uncle Ted. But, please take a few steps to the right or to the left...

Ah! The memories of the chunky-ho. That's where I lost my gamblin' virginity. I was 18, they hooked me and then raised the age to 21. After that, we had to drive all the way to Red Wing, MN to get our fix. At least that was for a short time, since we only had to be 19 to hit up Casino Windsor.

Sometimes you can't get 'em to keep moving...sometimes you can't get 'em to stop.

People do not pay attention at all while walking around. I almost got run over by a taxi on the Strip while waiting to cross an intersection. I'm at the curb, waiting for the green light, group behind me walked right into me and didn't even stop. Shoved me onto the Strip, cabbie honked and I basically dug in my heels and jumped backward into the crowd. And guess who thought they were in the right?? You guessed it. They did.

How about people who stop walking once they get on a moving walkway? Hey people it's just like the highway, pass on the left. Slow to the right. Oh wait, people already don't pay attention to that law anyway.

 

I've always rented a car and never had any real problems, and I'm not even a regular city driver. Didn't really notice much construction last trip, Mar 05 or the Nov. 04 trip for that matter. I only drove on the Strip once each trip. Usually I stay on roads such as Koval, Paradise, and Decatur. Only use the "main routes", for lack of a better term, when I have to. Hopefully the next time I get to LV the repairs and such will all be completed and all the drivers will be sane again, both tourists and locals. Road rage is a problem these days too. Unfortunate. As thoots said, What is the DAMN hurry?????

My personal all-time favorite is the person who stops right in front of you to answer their cell phone.
You'd think at this point they'd have enough common sense to move to the side...but no..stop...rummage through bag/pocket for the damn thing thats playing some inane melody over and over again and proceed to talk over any and all noise.
Forget Road Rage. It's coming to a walkway near you, before long.

 

Slot Hogs

That's one of my worst, the slot hogs, those folk who come and stand behind you waiting for you to get off the 'one machine in a 1,000' that they believe will the "loose" slot. I pity the person who waits for me because I hardly ever win. I don't play loose slots, or if I do they suddenly tighten up.

That's my beef.

 

Ummm, I may be a bit of a dissenter here. While I agree with the majoritiy of scenarios listed, I still don't think that if all of the aforementioned incidents occurred on my most recent Vegas trip, well...it is still Vegas...given the choice of being involved in all of the above or being at work, regardless of what I do, I'd pick the Vegas annoyances every time.

A bad day in Vegas is better than a good day at work, any day.

And, we definitely had a great time and are already planning our next trip. Those things just happened to pop into my head and I figured I'd seperate them from my regular positive TR that is forthcoming.

 

The malls in Vegas seem to have a bunch of kiosk with high pressure pitch men selling hand lotion, magic pencils, vacations, etc. There was one guy that stepped in front of my wife and wouldn't let her pass until she told him no three times. It's enough to give you mall rage!!!

 

I hate that stuff too. the malls near us are getting worse and worse with that. I'm surprised that mall management would allow that but then again I guess it's always about the money.

 

Well maybe I am the only person irritated by the momos who don't pay any attention to the "walk" or "don't walk" lights and just start heading across the street. That certainly can't help in traffic. I couldn't help but wonder how Vegas stacks up in pedestrian/car accidents. Seems like it ought to be quite high.

 

My biggest irritation is the people who stand at the slot club desk for 15 minutes and "wheel and deal" for 15 minutes, asking questions and such, with a million people in line behind them. Then, they turn around to leave, and before taking the first step way, turn back around to ask five more questions.
