Don't waste your time with Pinup. It's a big piece, but not worth the trip.

Buddy V's in The Venetian. Small pizzas and minimal selection, but authentic and tasty.

I'd probably just stick with Five50. Have you had any of their whole pies, or just gotten from the slice counter? Because the slices are good, but definitely different from the whole pies (I'm a big fan of the North Beach, though without onions); the slices are more like New York takeout pizzas, whereas the whole pies are a bit more gourmet. Also, their seasonal crostini is always fantastic.

800 Degree at Monte Carlo is new in the past two years. Not as good as 550, but its alright if you want to try something different. plus its a design your own kind of place, so you can experiment with ingredients and have some fun

    Five50 slices definitely get a solid A- / B+

Cosmo's place is OK, a notch or so down from Five50. It tastes good but always seems to give me trouble, too much cheese maybe, or maybe just on an empty stomach.

Grimaldi's I would definitely check out if I'm up that way. No slices, I don't think, but their website says they do a personal size whole for $9.

My brother! I too love a Grimaldi's pie. Native NYer and in my opinion, they're the best in Vegas. Five50 is amazing as well, but I give the edge to Grimaldi's.

Five50 slices definitely need to be graded on a curve, though. Is it gourmet pizza in the sober light of the afternoon? Probably not. Is is pretty top-notch drunk food? Absolutely. On par with a decent NYC slice, and also very good the next day. Interesting that it's the cheese that gives you trouble, though, I've always thought that Five50 had more cheese on it than Secret Pizza (though I'm totally fine with as much cheese as they want to toss on there).

The whole pizzas are fantastic, though, as is much of the rest of their menu. I wish they hadn't gotten rid of the pork belly crostini, but the duck one is good, as are the rice balls and the mozzarella offerings.

Another vote for Five50. I think the slices are pretty good at any time of the day, being open past midnight is just awesomess. I agree that alot of people miss out on the other pizzas and menu items that the restaurant offers. They also had a nice lunch special when I sat at the bar a couple months ago.

Grimaldis has the greatest pizza I've ever had in my life, literally. And their awesome regular dinner salad is big enough for two to share (waitress actually recommended it to save us money which was nice). It's really affordable either way though. Great value on top of everything.

Secret Pizza is good "arcade pizza" but nowhere to sit, so not great if you're with your significant other.

I have yet to try Grimaldi's but I will in March

Five50 is a good slice as is, like Andy said, the place in NYNY.

And as always...if it has a nice grease ratio and is foldable that is important.
