I really thought the UFC would follow through and buy the naming rights. My g/f sarcastically asked, does that mean my phone signal will be better on the Strip now? :evillaugh

It wouldn't surprise me if the arena would be loaded with T-Mobile microcells to improve performance. This was kind of a yawn announcement during CES.

las vegas probably wasn't willing to pay 10-20 million for naming rights.

But MGM is already a partner. Wouldnt it have made more sense to name it something related to their properties? Almost anything would be better than " T-Mobile. "?!?!

Corporate naming rights is something I wish they would bury in the Chernobyl sarcophagus! :( :vomit:

This falls under the category of "who cares what they name it" for me. I just hope it's a well run joint with lots of concerts and events. I hope it attracts people to Las Vegas and specifically to that area of the strip. If they can get some additional revenue from an entity who sees it as an advertising opportunity to improve their brand... more power to 'em.

Love it! Odd if people are having problems with Tmobile on the Strip. I've only been with them about 6 months but stayed on the Strip 3 times since then and no issues at all. Even worked great in my room and for hotspot as well.

I am sure TMO will put up a DAS/Small Cell system at the stadium but let's hope some sort of neutral host gets put in so everyone has better coverage. :)

I'm not calling it this. I refuse. When the new Comiskey became US Cellular, it was quickly shortened to The Cell. Thank goodness that happened because US Cellular doesn't even service Chicago anymore. Unless someone has a better idea, I leaning towards calling it the Vegas Cell. Anyone else got a better nickname idea?

Why does anyone really care what an arena is named after?

If you dislike a product/company, it's hard to root for your team at an arena named for that product. It's a psychological thing.
