I remember the days back in the 90s during Comdex where my room on the strip was almost triple the regular rate. Those of you lucky VMB'ers that are there now during CES, are the room charges exorbitant ?

I know some people paying $500 a night at the Stratosphere . I would classify that as exorbitant for that class of property.

With those crazy prices for a midweek room, does anyone not associated with CES go to Vegas this week?

I wonder if during the day the streets are empty as everyone is bust with the CES stuff.

Nope. There are meetings all over the place. It's quite a zoo.

380K for the Super Bowl, Dam. That will be a lot of M&M world bags.

I just did a quick search on hotels.com for hotel prices during superbowl weekend, the prices are typical and not hyper inflated, the CES prices I see are stupid high, $1200/night at the B, $1100/night at the wynn, CES is the silliest time to go to vegas, but I bet its a zoo

I just got back Wed morning. I wanted to extend my stay till the weekend but the cheapest was$399 a nt(current stay was comped) for harrahs..I arrived new years day, and if you ask me it was busier new years weekend then it was during the week.

I would bet money there were tons of rooms available but they are betting on supply and demand for business travelers...I held back the urge of going to the front desk and wheeling and dealing a room to stay longer :)

I would imagine even with CET and the likes this time of year is still extremely slow compared to the summer, and that room occupancy is extremely low
